Tends to get in the way
So, I had a smallish oven, with a cooking temperature completely unrelated to the controls. This themometer is as accurate and responsive as you expect, given the mechanism is almost certainly based on the expansion of some kind of spring. My beef with it is this: it didn't seem to matter where I put it in the oven, it was always in the way. The shape of it doesn't lend itself to quickly shuffling out of the way either, and I burnt myself a couple of times moving it.YMMV, and if you have a large oven you don't trust (or a small oven you don't trust, and better dexterity), this is a decent buy.In the circs, would I buy again? Probably.

A must item for kitchen
Very pleased with this oven thermometer. I’ve got a brand new oven and needed to check temperature as I make a lot of cakes for various events. This thermometer is very accurate and in sync with my oven. A good size and with large clear numbers which can be seen through the oven door without the need to open it. Sits on oven shelf or better still hangs from any shelf. Good value and delivered quickly

This seems quite accurate..........
We needed to know how accurate our oven is so we bought this mid range thermostat. Luckily for us both oven and 'stat were at very similar temperatures. We tested it at 100C, 150C,180C, 240C and 280C. For each temperature both were quite similar.Of course both could be wrong but it does prove that the 'stat is increasing as the oven gets hotter!!I found the fact that it hangs from a shelf/wire rack quite useful as we could see the gauge through the glass door.I think for the price that is quite an accurate little thermometer.

Not easy to read
I bought this as l had recently started baking but I'm not sure which is right my oven or this as there is a difference, it sits nicely on the rack can hook over the bars, but its not very easy to read though as the markers are slightly offset but it wasn't expensive so l guess you get what you pay for I still use it but its a bit of a guess between the 2 as l become more confident l think l will use it less and less couldn't really recommend sorry

Accurate gauge, helped me identify a faulty oven.
Helped me identify that my oven had an issue, was surprised how cheap these were. I've just left it in the oven now and it let's me know when it's actually preheated. The metal tabs on the top for hanging it from a wire rack are pretty poor, if you bend them you can't easily bend them back without it snapping off.

Know your true oven temperature.
My bakes were failing, and oven no longer seemed as hot, even after replacing heating element, this arrived next day and is perfect, i now know my oven is heating to approx 60c less than dial says.I wish i had bought one even when oven wasn't broken, to get the best of my baking.
