Needs a few buttons but otherwise perfect
I lost my beloved kindle oasis on the plane and reached out but they could not find it. Again. So now the scribe has come out and I had to try it. And it's even better than the Oasis. I do miss the buttons that the Oasis had. Everything works very well, and it is very easy to read. The weight is much heavier but seems justified given that the processor is fast (finally!), the battery life is pretty good, the resolution is great, the backlighting is perfect, and the stylus works amazingly well. I believe that if I were in a situation where I needed to write notes or do math problems or doodle during class, this unit would be much better than doing it by hand (especially since I'm a lefty which means pencils and pens smudge easily for me).

Really NICE Kindle!
The battery life is great. The screen is very nice--big, easy to read, clear & sharp. Unit is a bit pricey, but this Kindle is VERY nice.

Battery life is incredible!!!!
I’m mixed on how I feel about this device. There are definitely things I love but others that I don’t. I’m going to start with the things I don’t because I think it gives a better idea of how the device works.Don’t like:-I wish the notebooks could be used while reading eBooks, instead if I want to write on a notebook while reading I have to go out of the book then go into the notebook. Yes I can make notes but I’d prefer the ease of not having a bunch of notes that don’t transfer to a notebook that I then have to transfer myself after which again is a lot of flipping between docs and such. It would be nice to have it be like docs/pdfs where it allows you to write right on the page.-It’s big! I know it’s on me I should’ve looked at the dimensions but with the size of all the other Kindles I figured it’d be smaller, that’s on me though. What I didn’t count on was the weight of it, it’s basically the size of a regular size iPad but heavier. It can be very heavy after a while and there isn’t a strap on the case that was in the bundle from Amazon. Hopefully more variety for cases will come out soon.Like:-The ability to write is obviously huge and why I bought it. The writing is smooth and legible, feels like I’m just writing on a piece of paper.-If’s faster than any kindle I’ve owned which is huge when I have to jump between things like I said above.-The button is NOT on the bottom!!! Thank god someone at Amazon figured out how bad of an idea having the power off button was to put on the bottom side of the device. It’s on the side now along with the charging port, again another great replacement.-Finally and the BIGGEST plus for this device is the battery is the best of any device Amazon has put out. I can leave it for a month and it will lose like 2% battery in that WHILE being left on that entire time. I don’t know why they don’t implement this battery into their other devices, for the battery alone I feel like this is worth the majority of the price.Overall, it has good and bad aspects for me but I’m definitely happy with my purchase. I would for sure recommend it.

Unleashing Creativity and Functionality with the Kindle Scribe
So, I've had the chance to dive into the world of the Kindle Scribe, and I must say, it's an absolute game-changer when it comes to note-taking and playing around with PDFs. This nifty device brilliantly marries the nostalgic charm of writing in a notebook with the modern prowess of technology. It's got a bunch of cool features that cater to both my need for productivity and my creative flair. It's like a bullet journal I can add endless pages to and then export into a text format. What struck a chord with me is how the Kindle Scribe brings back that old-school notebook feel. As someone who loves scribbling down thoughts on paper, this feature instantly clicked with me. The way the stylus glides and the device captures my handwriting is uncanny – it's like writing with an actual pen! Be it spontaneous musings or just the therapeutic act of writing, the Kindle Scribe captures it all with finesse. The Kindle Scribe isn't just about mimicking notebooks; it's also a powerhouse for handling PDFs. Importing PDFs and scribbling all over them? Yes, please! This is a dream come true for me who's always working with documents. The e-ink display is crisp and easy on the eyes, making sure every word and image pops. And the stylus is responsive enough to make annotating a walk in the park. Highlights, personal notes, and even doodles – I can do it all without breaking a sweat. Now, here's the thing. While the Kindle Scribe nails the notebook and PDF game, I've got a tiny bone to pick. I'm an avid reader, and I'd love to scribble directly on my Kindle books. It's that tactile connection with the text that I miss. So, Amazon, if you're listening, please make that happen. It would turn this already fantastic gadget into an absolute essential for us bookworms.A noteworthy aspect that truly enhances the Kindle Scribe experience – is its capacity to deter distractions. In an era dominated by social media apps and addictive games, the Kindle Scribe stands as a beacon of focus. The intentional absence of these distractions fosters an environment that encourages immersion in reading and writing. It's refreshing to have a device that values the sanctity of concentration, letting you truly lose yourself in the world of words and ideas. To wrap it up, the Kindle Scribe isn't just a device; it's an experience. It's a companion for those who find joy in handwriting and need a more interactive way to dive into digital documents. While the Kindle books' direct annotation might be a missing piece, the Kindle Scribe still offers an incredibly satisfying and versatile journey.

I am surprised how much I like this thing and how much I use it.
This is my 10th Kindle, and my absolute favorite. I love having this much screen real estate to read books. The pen works well. The Kindle is easy to navigate. I really love the notebooks. I have one notebook where I write down Spanish phrases I am am studying. Another notebook is a journal.I am not such a big fan of the case, which seems insufficient to really protect the Kindle. The Kindle has fallen out of this case once. It was expensive for what it is. I may go looking for a case that offers better protection. This Kindle has become something I use and enjoy every day. It feels essential once I got into the experience of using it. The only thing I miss with it is that it is not in color. While the screen resolution is wonderful, it is black and white, which means when viewing things like recipe books or magazines my experience is diminished by the lack of color. But for reading text, it is awesome as it is.
