Overall very pleased with the product and the price. Great selection of parts and accessories included. Storage case is sturdy, and plastic internal parts sorter is ckearly labelled. Unfortunately the taps are not very clearly marked/stamped with their sizes, especially on the smaller taps so can be a pain to find the exact size you want. Also, when it arrived I spent an hour or more sorting them into their respective positions as they'd fell out all over the case in transit but that's a one time issue for me where it'll live in the garage, but for someone taking these in a van could be more of an issue. Haven't used them enough yet to talk to strength of steel, but being Sealed I have a decent level of trust in their quality / longevity

I am unable to place this comment in the question and answer section where it should be as I have had the set for some time and am unable to access that section.There seems to be confusion as to whether these taps and dies are coarse or fine thread.As both the taps and dies are marked with their size and pitch it is easy to check against an appropriate chart whether the items are coarse or fine. The set contains BOTH fine and coarse taps of M3,4,5, 6,7,8,10 and 12. as well as an 1/8 NTP 27 tap.The taps are all intermediate or second taps.It also contains BOTH coarse and fine dies in the sizes of M3,4,5,6,7,8.10,12 as well as an 1/8 NTP27 die. Although it does not say I believe it is carbon steel not HSS.The set is of decent quality in a good case and contains all the items I would need or use including information on correct drill size etc.A goody and highly recommended.

Bought this for my husband and he was extremely pleased but he’s not used it yet so I can’t comment on the quality. He has inspected them though and said these are very good for what he wants them for.

Often looked at tap and die sets but never really needed one. A motorbike repair left me thinking how useful a set would be. This set appeared to be reasonable quality at a decent price. My first use has been a complete success. The set worked a treat and a tricky job, thanks to previous hamfisted "mechanic", was made easy with this set. Bolt and shaft threads tidied up in no time and the job completed in seconds.

I would not buy this again or recommend it. The metal case is terrible; the bits don't fit well, and the handle, gauge, and dies just fall out and are not held in place, even when the case is closed. The handle is not fit for purpose. It is not good quality, it doesn't adjust properly or easily and does not hold the bits straight or securely. I generously gave it 3 stars because the bits did cut well. There are three different cutting bits for each size; one for starting, one for a second tap, and one final one for bottoming. I'm not sure how accurate the sizes are because I only needed to use the bottoming (final) one and it quickly and easily made a thread into a block of steel. I did use cutting fluid though. I only bought this one because i needed next day delivery and this seemed to be the 'best' one available for next day delivery. I'm glad it did do the. I am going too look for another set for future use.
