I wear these under my ice hockey pants! Provides extra coverage. Comfortable. Runs a little small.

They don’t work for snowboarding very well. When I fall they don’t help save the tailbone area.

I like that the padding is thick and complete. I also like that the waist band is adjustable. But the whole shorts is quite bulky and rigid. It works for sports that doesn't require a lot of hip movements. For example, it works well for skateboarding, roller skating, and even skiing. But definitely not for ice skating or cycling. Overall, protection is great. You just need to use it for the right activities.

Slightly smaller than true to size due to padding. Excellent coverage, better than the rippled models! Not too bulky and super cushioned landing when taking those spills.

As an active senior softball player (in my 70's) I find I need all the protection I can get. These padded shorts provide lots of protection in spots others don't, particularly in the coccyx area and outer thighs. I would give it 5 stars, except that they say it needs to be hand-washed, and I really don't care for that process. BTW, they run a little large. I have a 34" waist, ordered an XL, and they are a bit loose at the waist (shouldn't be a problem since they'll be worn under belted pants).
