A fun, concise
A fun, concise, navigational tool to Happiness! A Perfectly Hyggely book to curl up with in front of the fire, with a cup of cocoa, on a cold winter's day. I absolutely LOVED it!!

Easy book to read for knowing "Hygge" - Danish lifestyle for living well
I am interested in cultures and different lifestyles. This is the reason why I picked up this book.I really like how good the state welfare of Denmark has worked to reduce extreme unhappiness. My favorite quote is "The gross national product does not allow for the health of our children, the quality of their education or the joy of their play. It does not include the beauty of our poetry or the strength of our marriages; the intelligence of our public debate or the integrity of our public officials... It measures everything, in short, except that which makes life worthwhile".Reading this book, I found out some ancient wisdom in the Danish way to live well: "action of non-action" by Lao Tzu, Japanese minimalism lifestyle, etc. After all, this inspires to look for simple things that bring joy to our lives.

If could borrow it...borrow
In an egalitarian, cold, wealthy, free of corruption and other mundane struggle country the book works. Am I hygge or hyggeling? I guess so. Where I live, Brazil, I wake up in a constant damned environment. Onde day a barrage collapses, next day a city floods and blinks later, fire kills kids (this is early 2019 and no Dante circles), hardtop comprehend how an entire nation is happy through something called hygge. Having said that, yes the book is worth the read. Mostly if you are satisfied in caving in at home.

While this book shed insight to being happy and content it really didn’t tell me things I didn’t know other than being happy in Denmark is a heck of a lot easier than being happy in the USA. Maybe I should move there. The content of the book is very repetitive. Within the first chapter I know fireplaces, candles, hot beverages are a major part of Hygge. But I still had to read about it through each successive chapter.

Good intro to Hygge
This book has sent me on a quest to incorporate more hygge into my everyday life. And has given me an excuse to light candles more often. We have had two successful hyggelit family nights with many more to follow. I'm looking forward to winter even more now :) Thank you for connecting me with something I knew was missing, but couldn't quite figure out myself.

A well written account of the Danish culture; however, there's not much light shed on the socialism and economics which plays a big part in the culture. Nor any mention that they still have a monarchy.

This is an excellent book which shows the importance of slowing down and enjoying everyday life. It was a fun informative read and I love how it talks about all the things you need to live your coziest life. It also has very useful statistics and background information which backs up the book's philosophy.
