I was not aware of the fact that the tubes and joints of a lamp are NOT solid brass as stated in the seller's product description; they seem to be some sort of brass-like plated materials. If you can see its layers inside, you will see the layer of brass-coloured material is VERY THIN. The tubes and joints of a lamp are brittle. I thought the tubes and joints of the lamp were made of fibreglass so I contacted the seller. They still insisted that their product was made of metal; "The item is fully made from metal," said the seller. They did not use the word "brass" anyway. I might be wrong about the fibreglass; however, the tubes and joints of the lamp are not made of metal solely, otherwise, it would have not been that brittle. My item was broken when people just lifted it with one hand holding the upper tube connecting the shade, so the weight asserting the jointing part which was torn off is contributed JUST from the base. Please just give the details of materials as well as product care as precise as the seller can so that customers will be aware of their purchased products and they will prevent avoidable damage.

The lamp itself is wonderful, but the bulb fitting extends almost 50% of the way into the top dome - so far that there is no room to actually put in a standard bulb without having to cut away part of the fitting. It clearly says that it accepts "a standard E14 incandescent lamp, energy saving or LED versions", but it doesn't - you would need quite a low profile bulb to fit it into the gap they have left (see photos attached).That being said, it is still very good value for money and I think even knowing that this adjustment is required, I would still buy another. You just need to be comfortable that you are happy with this before buying (and don't spend money on an expensive LED bulb, like I did, before seeing just how small the gap to fit it in is).

I have to say I purchased this for my father as his Christmas present in October 2016. It is now February 2017 and he has been trying desperately to get a bulb that fits without telling me as he thought he was doing something wrong!My mother has spent £12 so far buying two different E14 bulbs from different suppliers, as shown by the label inside the lamp and BOTH bulbs are too long to fit inside the head of the lamp.It is a fatal design flaw in this lamp, which has been poorly thought out. It looks good but the reality is that it is not in any way practical.I have ended up using a scalpel to scrape away a crescent shape out of the plastic fitting to enable the bulb to actually fit in! Not really what you would expect to do when buying a new lamp!!It is such a shame as the look of the lamp is timeless but the practical design element is very poor and disappointing.

Been looking for a desk lamp for ages, probably too demanding customer but I didn't want to spend too much and of course wanted a great item :) Found it! This lamp is literally great value for money. Amazing modern design meets all technical features - the lamp is tall enough to cover the whole desk, fully adjustable in two points, 40 Watt round bulb gives plenty of light for whatever you need to do at your desk, the bottom part is heavy which makes the lamp very stable. And moreover - the material the lamp is made of is just timeless. And the delivery was much earlier than promised. Really - highly recommended item and seller!!! THANKS!!!

The lamp is exactly what I wanted, however, sadly, it was damaged when I opened the box; it is broken at the arm. I contacted the seller, unfortunately, as I didn’t open the package until some time after receiving it, they would not accommodate a return/refund. I am currently left with quite an expensive, useless, lamp.

This is a brilliant lamp. Its metal so no more cheap plastic breaking. Its on UK mains so no need for the transformer, just straight into the wall socket. Its E14 bulb so you can get the LED type at 3 Watts. The joints have those teeth that interlock, loosen to move tighten and they interlock at the new position. Note. The ball at the bottom is not a joint, it is fixed in that position, it rotates but doesnt pivot.

Wanted this as a desk light having broken the one I had,have been browsing the net for some time now ,and finally settled on this one, very pleased with it , has got some weight to it, BUT the bulb they recommend to use with it which I ordered with the lamp, does not fit, there is not enough room to get the bulb in, hopefully I can use the bulb elsewhere

As described, lots of comments about bulb size, but we found one in our stash that fitted. Looks good, just the job.
