waste of time & coffee
Wanted to replace my old Aluminium Moka pots. Have used various Moka pots for 35 years.Checked this pot was compatible gas stove . Measured & filled base with water and waited for similar amount of coffee to arrive in top pot. Despite filling it & it being a 6 cup capacity approx only one large espresso cup full arrived, base was burning. Tried several more times, despite tightening well steams pouring out from around the middle .Bought for its good looks, returning as does not perform its function. Lots of time and good coffee wasted! ( Handle also wobbly)

Nice looking and good working pot!
It's a good looking pot and was packaged well on delivery.I was concerned that it might not work on our induction hob as the base diameter (12.5cm approx) was smaller than the job and some reviews indicate this might be a problem. However, it works well on our 15 cm diameter induction hob.If used at the highest heat setting the coffee will bubble out of the top and has forced steam out of the pressure valve and even the bottom seal. (Induction hobs seem capable of creating a very concentrated high heat source.)After this experience on my inaugural brew, I now start off at the highest setting to get it going, and then turn it down to mark 3 (of 9).This works brilliantly and at this heat level, the coffee very gently enters the upper pot and I'll admit to getting an absurd amount of pleasure watching the lovely coffee seep down the percolation spout as it enters the top pot.It makes enough coffee for 3 half milk-half coffee mugfuls.Cleaning is easy once it's cooled down. There are traces of coffee in the lower pot but a quick rinse out seems to do the trick. I don't think this pot will remain spotless but then none of the similar aluminium ones we've used previously on conventional hobs did either. I don't think it's a big issue. The top pot looks good inside after a quick rinse out.Cleaning the coffee grounds out is the biggest hassle but it's a far smaller hassle than brushing my teeth and as I get delicious coffee as compensation, I shan't complain! 😉We're pleased with the GAT coffee maker and have now dumped our espresso machine although not having steamed milk for a latte has required a little adjustment to the barista's orders!

but the top half is a poor fit, and it doesn't smell very good
It does work, but the top half is a poor fit, and it doesn't smell very good, even after washing it with detergent.

Was bitterly disappointed when this arrived as the lid was poorly fitted and rattled . . a second one was sent and although the lid was a better fit (not perfect as in the picture) the handle was damaged and the over-all quality of finish poor.Returned both pots and received full refund plus postage. My overall impression of the two that we were sent is that they were factory seconds - avoid !
