Unique and of a high quality for price.
Very nice, unique set. The carving of the pieces is rough, which I like, I get the feeling that no sets will be exactly the same. Having said that, the pieces are easily distinguished and weighty enough that they do not feel cheap. The board itself is lovely and the inlaid marble/stone is immaculate while having the same hand-carved feel as the pieces. The only sign of cutting corners is in the lining inside the box, the lid has a nice quilted material but the base in which the pieces sit is low quality, badly fitting hard sponge - not enough of an issue to remove a star however.

Really high quality actually.Still not sure if it's real marble or not but if it is fake it's really good fake - enough to fool me atleast so I cant complain.Did accidentally break my black queen which is a crying shame, the pieces are a bit delicate. Not anything too drastic just dont let pieces fall of the desk.10/10 I'm lovin it

Not for serious chess players.
Smaller than I thought. No felt on the bottom of the pieces. Reminds me of a cheap Turkish Market chess set you would buy on holiday for a gift.

Pieces could be better
Smaller than I thought it would be. Not a great deal of definition in the pieces. Bought this for ornamental rather than playing purposes so from that angle it works quite well. The chess set was also well packed and the board itself is nice enough. I feel it is slightly over priced and that is why ii have given 3 rather than 4 stars. Delivery was spot on although didn't show up on my DPD app so had to wait in most of the day.
