I've tried a number of skin-brightening products over the last few years in response to recurring complexion issues, primarily dark spots left by acne outbreaks; results have varied widely. I know from long experience that it takes at least several weeks to definitely determine the efficacy of complexion correcting serum, or lack thereof. So while I have been testing this DS Dermasensa brand for only a short while now, initial impressions are encouraging. The one-percent arbutin in this product is well within the recommended range for this powerful plant based extract making excessive skin-fading very unlikely. I've also used many, MANY products containing gylcolic acid over some years so am very comfortable and encouraged by its presence here. Early results are producing a smoother complexion, shorter durations for those acne outbreaks I experience and the first signs of the gradual shrinking of dark spots. This serum absorbs quickly leaving no greasiness or tightness behind, and can be followed up with any moisturizer you like. It is on the expensive side but a few drops is more than sufficient to treat any area making the two-ounce bottle pretty economical in the long-run. If you can afford only one product to treat an uneven complexion this on should be among the first to consider.

I was hoping this would help out with the dark circles around my eyes, but have seen no noticeable difference after using the serum for the last (2) weeks. It is extremely watery, and tends to run off rather than absorbing into the skin. A bit of a let down as I was hoping to use this less expensive option compared to the more costly brand name that I've used for years.

The company marketing slogan is "go deeper" both in terms of their active ingredients and the research they put into their formulas.This oily serum uses alpha arbutin, a plant extract, and glycolic acid, to smooth the skin and reduce discoloration and hyperpigmentation. It also has skin-soothing aloe to counteract any harshness. I have mild melasma left over from my last pregnancy on both my cheeks, which is exacerbated (a.k.a. becomes more noticeable) if I get any sun at all.This advised to be used on bare skin, twice daily, under your regular moisturizer and sunscreen (don't skip the SPF, as it's the best anti-aging step you can take). For me this didn't seem to work as well as my normal Vitamin C serum. It didn't irritate my somewhat sensitive skin, but after 2 weeks I switched back, because I felt my melasma was more noticeable, not less.

the texture is exactly what i want. No strong smell. Very natural scent. Will recommend to my friends.

I’ve used the Alpha P Penetrating Serum for 2 weeks and I can say that it is working for me. I use it twice daily on some hyperpigmentation areas on my chin and a few spots from pimple scarring..It is a very thin, almost watery serum and if you’re trying to target specific areas, using the dropper might not do the trick… the product will run.I didn’t want to apply the product to unneeded areas so, I had to use another application method. Maybe when I am rid of the hyperpigmentation, I might try a whole face application to even everything out.To use the product, I initially would put a few drops in a medicine cup and then use a Q-Tip to apply. This works great.Also, I had an old bottle of Rx eye drops that had a hole about the size of a needle and it works perfectly for applying in pinpoint accuracy. DS Dermersena, if you’re reading this, adding this as an additional application tip would be awesome.After two weeks, no, the hyperpigmentation is not gone, but the areas have lightened quite a bit. The old pimples are even peeling and looking really smooth.What is really great is that I didn’t have to layer my concealer to cover the areas today. It took just one light coat. Normally, I would layer 2 to 3 times.To me, this is significant because those of us with more melanin in our skin realize that removing hyperpigmentation from damaged skin can be a challenge.I’m sure that before this bottle is empty, I will be pleased with the results it has promised. Heck, I already am.

I don't recall ever hearing of this brand but I have quickly become a fan of it. At least based on my experience with this, it has easily made it on to my favorite products! I love the ingredients within it and how quickly it has become effective with my skin. Overall, it is one of those skincare products that just makes the complexion of my skin look much better. Due to a chronic health condition that I have, I am always tired and the fatigue definitely shows in my face. Plus, having dry areas (combination type) I deal with dullness. So the brightening benefits are welcome with me. My skin looks and feels smoother. It addresses my concerns with aging, large pores and uneven skin tone. I'm loving it!

The essence is watery and one dropperful per area according to directions seemed too much.When I applied it to freshly cleaned skin, I expected some tingling or discomfort. There was none, at best a slight warmth, so I was able to leave it on my face. I let it sit for about 5 minutes before I followed with a toner and the rest of my process.As I’ve only used it a short time, I don’t expect dramatic results, however, the discoloration on my cheeks seems to have changed slightly in shape.I have great hopes for this product.
