Simply brilliant for the money
Got this subwoofer for my Yamaha SX600 Workstation. All I can say is WOW, what an incredible difference this Subwoofer makes to an already great sound from the workstation itself. It completely raises the bar further to an already great Workstation Keyboard. The bass this unit produces is very realistic and when playing using the Grand Piano. It really adds a lot of punch to the sound almost as if it were a real Grand Piano.I would definitely recommend this unit if you have any type of Yamaha SX Series Workstation Keyboard. It's amazing value for money and a heavy, robust unit too. Very impressed.

A nice beefy sound, but it should have been a 10 inch driver instead of 8 inch.
When shopping for speakers and subwoofers online, it's a bit of a guessing game at times, because while you can look at the unit, and read the specification of the unit, the sound that's produced is ultimately not going to be something you can determine from those things. Sure you can read reviews, but everyone has a different taste and expectation of what's good and what's not.So for the "sound quality" part of this, I'll just keep it simple. It's sounds good on my home theatre. It adds plenty low end to your movies and games. It also does a fairly good job if your using it for music. I feel that it's best suited for a small to medium sized room, the average living room I guess. It does a good job of blending with your audio source too, so it doesn't sound like it has it's own location in the room. For anyone wondering what I mean by this, a good example would be when someone is talking on screen, and you can hear their voice coming from the speaker up front, and separately hear their lower ends coming from the direction of the sub. Sometimes this is an issue with your set up, and sometime it's just cause it's a rubbish sub. Fortunately, the SW200 is good. For this review, I though I'd point out a few of the things I noticed about this unit (SW200) it's self, and also when compared to a couple of the other units in it's family (the SW100 and SW300). I figured that these things would generally be more useful for someone looking to integrate this or another sub into their home theatre system. The build quality feels solid, there's no creeks or lose parts that could cause distortions when using the unit. I was a bit disappointed that the front grill can't be removed, as the rest of the speaker in my set up are exposed so it would have looked nicer. The power cable is also integrated, which I'm not a fan of since your nearest plug is sometimes quite far from where you want to place the unit.I'm using this in a 7.1 surround sound configuration, so my main source of the audio is coming from a receiver to the RCA LFE port. Sadly, I've got nothing I can use to test the "Normal" RCA Mono ports, so I haven't heard how that sounds. When using the LFE connector, the "High Cut" doesn't function (which is good), instead your receive is responsible for controlling the frequency cut off. This means High Cut works specifically for when you connect a normal audio source to the units Mono RCA port, this gives you a way to control how much of the sound source you want to reach your speaker. Nice. It's also got stereo audio in and out for connecting a pair of speakers, but there's not much I can say about this as it's another feature I can't test with my current set up.There's an auto standby feature which is nice, this will turn the unit off after a while if no base or sound is detected. I decided not to use this though, as even on it's high sensitivity setting, I found that at night time when listening at a low volume, the unit would switch off to save power. This meant I'd need to crank the volume up to wake it, or manually turn it off and on again. It was better just to disable standby, and use the power switch in stead. This won't be an issue for all, just for those who like their neighbours. This actually leads me onto talking about the power switches. It's got two, oddly enough. There's one on the back which I'm confident isolates the unit from the mains entirely. Then there's one on on the front next to the volume control which seems to simply power down the unit. This is nice because it means that it's super easy to turn this thing off and on, especially if you're not using the auto standby feature. It's mostly good so far, as you can see. But there was one thing for me that brought it from 5 stars to 4, and that was that the SW200 uses an 8 inch driver instead of a 10. If you have a look at the SW100, which is a less powerful, and less featured unit, it's 10 inches. Then onto the SW300, which is the same as the SW200 in terms of features, it packs a little extra power, and that 10 inch driver. It's not that the 8 inch isn't capable, it's pretty damn good. My issue with it is that if you go from the SW100 to the SW200, you get more power, better features and more connectivity, but you lose those 2 inches. The price difference between those two units isn't so bad, but are maybe very slightly on the high side for an 8 inch sub. However, if you want to get those 2 inches back, you need to look at the SW300. With that unit, you're getting the same design and features, and are only really getting a little extra power and the 10 inch driver. The price jumps by an extra £150 for that! That's pretty insane given that at £400, we're moving into different territory. Could pick up a nice KEF unit at that price.Over all I'm happy with the unit, and I would recommend the SW200 above the SW100 and SW300, at least at nearly £400 anyway.I hope this has been helpful.

The Sound Quality On This Thing Is SIC
Love this sub-woofer, I brought a new stereo for my bedroom and got this to go with it. I can even turn it up too much because the house is trembling when I do. I have soft sounds when I want and can bring the heat with this thing when I want. I absolutely love it

Great sub for the money
Great sub for the money .. I got this to see if it would stand up against my current sub system and it does and blends in to give an added powerful rich base with in the rest of my surround sound system.

just a bit Meh...
I replaced my dead mission m3 sub with this when it died, had same size sub but actualy had a much smaller box.I'm not really impressed at all with the sound, its hard to describe really, the bass just doesnt have that thick low end grunt my old one had, this one is just very flappy and boomy, where it can get as low as 28hz theoretically there is almost no volume at all between 28-50hz which is what I think the issue is, its a bit like a projector with a native resolution of 720p stating its 4k ready as it will accept a 4k signal but cant actually output it. I dont think this is worth the money, just get the lower prices NSW50 as it has identical sound.
