Just right!
These U-bolts are perfect for my purpose. I raise and lower many flags each month, and these U-bolts attach through the grommets on the flag, improving the flag lifespan on the flagpole. These U-bolts also provide a straightening of the flag line, a correct hanging of the flag, and they provide a super nice appearance of the flag on the pole.

size difference
Ordered 1/4" shackles, product is good quality, but size is misstated, what I was supposed to get was much smaller than what was delivered; they are no more than 3/16" / 5mm.
