Fairly Straightforward
This is a very satisfying tool to use. I had a couple of sections of pipe that needed cutting out and regluing. It payed for itself in an afternoon. It's easy enough to use - you cut the pipe close to the fitting, put the tool in the drill, insert the smaller end into the section of pipe to remove, and zip into it.Things to note:You'll want to mark you hub depth on the tool so you stop at the right depth. If you have time, pull the tool regularly as you go through to clear swarf and let the pipe and tool cool. If you run it all at once the shavings will get caught and melted into the interior of the fitting and you'll have more cleaning to do to get the new pipe in.I've used the more expensive version of this style before, and I don't really know that there's a heck of a lot of difference. The flatter ones that look like little propellers don't build up heat the same, but they also are not self straightening. This is a pretty basic concept, and there's not a lot to mess up here. I'd be careful on rolling it around as someone else suggested. Carefully dry fit afterwards but don't force it or it will get stuck. Also use your best practices and chamfer your pipe and mark your hub depth so you don't over or under insert it.

Impressed
I was a little hesitant based off a YouTube video, but it really worked. I was going to be in a bad spot if it didn't work, but it guided it in straight and worked perfectly. Cheap fix for sure

Worked perfect

Does the job.
Reamed out a 1 1/2 elbow, no problem. Easy to use. Minor quibble, the diameter of the tool means the new pipe fits a tiny bit loose. Glued up ok, so not a problem.

Does exactly what it's supposed to
I had to rebuild an ABS drain and toilet flange for a bathroom remodel, and after getting quotes between $400 and $1800(!) from commercial plumbers, I researched what needed to be done. Several plumbing forums suggested using a Socket Saver after cutting the old pipe to refit with new ABS... and they weren't wrong. Took two hours after getting this bit to have a fully functioning and perfectly fit drain assembly, and I saved enough to install a fancy commode.Plumbers are worth their weight in gold but are very expensive for relatively minor repairs. If you're handy with most house repairs, this is an excellent, inexpensive tool to have in your kit.

2” thats not 2”
2” that’s 2 1/8 with a guide dimension that’s 1/16 too large for a standard schedule 40 pvc pipe. Someone in china goofed the metric to standard to metric conversion. Unusable. Thank you Amazon for an effortless return.

Turned out to work better than I expected
The reamer worked perfectly. I have used this a couple of times, saving me from having to tunnel into the bathroom walls to replace more sections of pipe. The first time I used it, I noticed that the final bore was not as smooth as I was expecting but once I glued up the PVC joint, it worked perfectly with no leaks.

Issues with Removing Too Much
Easy to use, probably not suitable for use with a hand drill as opposed to a drill press. Unsure if a drill press will fully address the issues with an oversized fitting after using this tool. Some of the fittings I salvaged worked well, some leaked. Not worth saving a few dollars if you have to cut out one or two fittings and redo them due to leaks.

Expensive and doesn't work
Product is supposed to allow for both 1 1/2" reaming and 2" reaming. I specifically needed this for the 2" reaming but the machined holes for the 2" attachment don't align with the main body at all and so the 2" attachment is entirely unusable. It may work for 1 1/2", but thats not what I bought this for.
