The neck fastening is velcro and unfortunately a bit itchy and uncomfortable for some. It just added to the issue my LO ( 4 yo) found with the whole costume which she really didn't like. I think she found it a bit overwhelming- she didn't like it being so low over her face. And it didn;t have wings. Not to put too fine a point on it, her displeasure with her outfit affected her performance in her play and there were tears before bedtime! Clrealry all kids are different, but if yours is a similar sensitive disposition the fact it flops over their face might be a problem...From an adults perspective I thought it was great, but you have to do a lot of work yourself as its just a cape with a hood really!
