The content is very good but the PRINTING STINKS!
I bought the paperback version of this book. Dali's writing is very interesting (odd, but what did you expect). The printing of this book is very, very poor. First, the text size is extremely small (I mean tiny). It appears that the pages were copied from another edition and just printed onto the pages of this version in a smaller format - there is an large gap at the top of every single page. The images in the book (mostly Dali's sketches) are very light and appear to be reproduced in a slightly distorted manner (like the page that they appear in another edition was just copied, shrunk, and plopped onto the page of this book. Also, there are some typesetting issues as well - there are no (zero) capital letter "N"s in the entire book - there is an empty block in the place of all "N"s throughout and in the place of several other capital letters as well.I was extremely annoyed with the poor printing quality of this book and should have returned it,Spend a couple of extra dollars and buy another version that you can actually read and see the images.

autobiography: you may like it or hate it
Dali writes about his life: at the age of 6 I wanted to be a cook. At 7 I wanted to be Napoleon. And my ambition has been growing steadily ever since. I was 5 when I pushed off a bridge a child smaller than me, he landed on some rocks 15ft below, I do not recall having experienced the slightest feeling of guilt over this incident. I was 6 when I gave a terrible kick in the head to my little 3-year-old sister who was crawling through a doorway, I ran carried away with delirious joy induced by this savage act, but my father, who was behind me, saw it all and punished me. A doctor came to our house to Pierce my sister's earlobes, this ear-piercig appeared to me an act of outrageous cruelty which I decided to prevent at all costs. When the doctor was about to perform the ear-piercing, I whipped the doctor right across the face with a leather tongue breaking his glasses causing the old man to cry out in pain

Took Effort To Read
Not really a thrilling book to read. Dali rants and raves which often times makes you not like his narcissistic tone. However I learned about Dali and what makes him tick. Not super impressed with his personal life but his surrealism work is fab :)A winded read.

Wow!
I thought I liked Salvador Dali before I read this book, but now I think I love him! I wish more artists would have written their own biographies. This book is very personal and filled with crazy anecdotes that you won't believe but know really happened because Dali was really that crazy! It is like trying to describe a dream, a dream you feel a spectator to yet are the center of attention at the same time. Dali's words will have you wondering if you actually are still dreaming.

He's amazing and crazy though so the books itself is great
I bought this to read on holiday but guessing it's a study book as you'll see from my pics. It's HUGE. He's amazing and crazy though so the books itself is great. Just don't take it on holiday if you want a tan!

Good product
Came promptly and good price but much more text and fewer pictures than had expected. As this was for my 13 yr old son, I returned it for one with more pictures.

Quality of print is horrible
Quality of the book itself is horrible. Its like remake of the book. Supplier should check some regular books and then recreate something. Feel free to check pictures :)

Interesting read
This book is a must read for those who follow art and artists.Salvador Dali was one of a kind and this book features text written by the man himself. It is an intense, entertaining and inspiring read.It is a simple black and white book, mainly with text with few black and white illustrations. It is NOT a coffee table book and should not be bought for the illustrations.
