Ok so reading the other reviews there seems to be 2 things that are true1. I’ve also fallen for the ‘dusk sensor’ thinking this was a ‘PIR’ model2. Installing is a pain but not too difficultThe instructions in the box were for the PIR model but luckily I didn’t need them, connecting up was simple enough as the connectors were marked as L, N & EThe sensor is on the front panel and is wired to the back panel, this immediately presents a problem trying to mark up on the wall so I disconnected the sensor to mark up then connected back up again.I tried to test it during the day by covering the sensor and it wouldn’t come on, sure enough when it got dark it came on fine and was off again in the morning.Overall for the money I would recommend.

Ideal for my Porch

I bought this lamp as a replacement to a different lamp that had broken. The instructions could have been clearer: No drill bit measurements are provided (ended up being 6mm); there’s a rubber seal to go around the cable which is absent from the instructions; and there seemed to be more screws than were needed, leaving me wondering if I’d missed something (I only used 2 out of the 4 provided). The wiring instructions were very clear, though. In terms of fitting, the wiring module needed repositioning as it was too close to the edge of the lamp, preventing the cover from fitting snuggly without risking breaking the input wiring, It was a simple case of moving the module to overcome this, by unscrewing and reattaching the module using a different hole in the module itself - easy enough to do once I worked out this could be done.In terms of the light itself, it seems solid and works quite well, so I’m pleased overall. Just a shame the instructions made installation a bit more difficult than it should have been.

Like to say the response for the outside wall light on issue with a fault was fast and gave clear instructions on how to remedy the light sensitive issue. When this also failed, responded very fast in sending a new replacement. Which i have installed and is working as expected. The chat with vendor was helpful as was there response. Thanks !

Cables for the existing light were at the top and the connector for this is at the bottom so electrician had a choice to fit another connector inside the light casing and run wires to the light's connector or turn the unit upside down! It is not symmetrical but nothing says which way up it should go by the shape, so upside down it went! We had to make the cable hole bigger and fit a bigger grommet but otherwise it was easy to fit for the pro. I only give it 3 stars because as others point out this can't be IP44 (water resistance ) rated as there is no seal around the edge, or glass panels. If water gets in it might sit at the bottom. But at least my connector is at the top now!

Easy to install and works effectively as a dusk to dawn outside light.

We have the need for a couple of PIR and a couple of regular lights.Chose these as we could leave the switch on for 'dusk to dawn' capabilities.Fitting was a little tight - the hole/grommet was a little too small & tight (& now I worry that over time it might chafe the wires).Instructions a little poor.However....we left them on last night...came directly on, even though it was light.....& they are on again this morning.Could send back, but would have to box up, etc, and we do have those two on switches - just won't use the sensor capabilities (because they don't work!).They look good, and work as lights....just not dusk-to-dawn lights. Curious why so many reviews are good - maybe ours were a bad batch 🤷‍♂️
