Zen Art Brass Feng Shui Desktop Gong

I bought this as a decorative piece for meditation. It looks just like the picture. It was a bit smaller than I thought it would be, but it does say it's a desk gong, so it is small enough to sit on a small desk. I will have to learn to study the dimensions on things a bit more. As a decoration, it works just fine. The picture of the Buddha is nice as is the message in Chinese. That said, it is not a musical gong and will NOT have the classic Oriental gong sound. It sounds much like a hotel desk bell or a chime. It is musically tuned and has a pleasant enough chime, but it does not sound at all like a gong. If you're wanting to buy one of these for decoration, by all means, go ahead. It is a fine looking piece for a budget price. If you're looking for something that makes an authentic gong sound, keep looking. You can find a musical gong as small as 4" but it will cost more, and you likely have to buy the stand and mallet separately.

Cheaply made product. I'm giving 3 stars only because even though it's not a quality product...we did get what we paid for since this was the least expensive gong I found anywhere! Better gongs are much more expensive! This was a gift for a 7 year old who wanted a gong, so it served it's purpose.If you want a nice display item or something that makes a true gong sound...this isn't the item you want. If you want something a child can play with, this serves that purpose! Had marks & dings on it straight out of the box.

its a really nice desktop gong. When I got the package, the gong was all in one piece and nothing was broken. Good quality for the price

Sound is very dinny instead of gongish. Very cheap but serves the purpose I need to call children for breathing breaks in classroom.
