Better than average, but not the best I've seen.
Reasonable quality fire steel...Pros:Good steel...easily throws decent sparks.Comes in little jute pouch...which can be cannibalized for a tinder nest.Decent workmanship.Cons:Although some reviewers complained about it being too short for big hands, I find it too long for my average/shorter hands. The leading edges of the sparking/ground portion could have been more rounded, so as to prevent catching that edge on your flint.(Mine had a couple of sharp spots/edges...particularly on one end.)Conclusion:Better than average, but not the best I've seen.(And I've collected quite a few over the years.)

Look it over before using.
As most reviews of this product are high I’m guessing mine was just faulty. I o my strick it a few times on my flint before it broke in half. You can see the small fractures in the metal which I’m guessing caused it to break.

Works. But it broke. But they're replacing it.
Ordered this to learn how to start a fire without matches. I have a lump of chert here, and was able to get some good big sparks with it. I made up some char cloth, (cotton muslin, in a quart paint can, sealed up and placed on hot coals for a few minutes), and with a little practice, was able to get the char cloth glowing. From there, it's a matter of blowing REALLY hard and finding the right tinder (curls of cedar wood, from a sharp block plane, work well.) Trouble is, it broke, after the second day (I'm guessing, after maybe a hundred strikes or so?) I was still able to make sparks with the larger, broken piece; but then that broke too. Good news is, I went on Amazon, and with a few clicks, ordered a replacement, arriving in 48 hours, at no cost (as long as I mail the broken one back to them, using the free printable return label.) So, maybe the tempering on this one was off? But I'm happy overall. Good service, cool tool.

Received replacement - returned for refund
Just received the Konvoy SG striker today- could not get it to throw one spark- all the flint did was gouge the metal. This item was obviously not heat treated correctly or was made from a batch of bad steel. Have ordered a replacement - UPDATED -Well, I'm happy to report I have to eat my words as the replacement they sent does work - it throws sparks. Yay !!Further update- after trying it for a bit I decided to return for a refund. The thing sparks but not that well and I noticed the damage the striker face was taking after just 10 days was horrible. My other striker I have had for 12 years and has hardly a scratch its just shiny. I think they have some re- thinking to do as far as material/ tempering .....

took some damage striking with quarts but overall I was able to ignight some charcloth so not bad.
good striker, nice price. I was able to spark some char cloth with it but it was NOT EASY to get it going. I think I did not prepare my tinder enough before striking it. I will need to try it again. I used this and a piece of quarts (American flint) to produce a spark. but again this is not as easy as a ferro rod or lighter, but if you know what you are doing I think you can make it work. I gave 4 stars because the striker took some damage from the quarts rock, and I think it may not be as hard as it is supposed to be, but I am not sure. anyway, good product, and I will keep playing with it.

cracked, not hardened
Product arrived cracked straight up the length of the striker. Steel was soft, instead of the flint creating sparks, it scratched the steel and chipped the flint. I have other steel strikers that work perfectly fine with the same flints.

If you are a hard core bushcraft or survivalist!
Now that I have your attention, I would say it’s very generic but of high-quality and seems to perform well with various materials when strike against. It’s about the right size to pack away, not heavy, a fun way to start a fire or an excellent way to find your inner anger with all things so be sure it’s not your on method of starting a fire ;)

Excellent quality
When it comes to fire starting there is no substitute for a solid flint and steel kit and the knowledge to use it properly. Incomplet
L'article semble de bonne facture bien que je n'ai pu encore le tester.En revanche, le sac de jute qui devait compléter ce striker est manquant.
