5 Classic Albums

I wa very happy with my purchase.

Wow! 5 of the 1960s Temptations' albums in a special small package. I love all their early stuff and these are the early albums. Even though I was familiar with their hits, the album songs are wonderful also. How can early Detroit Motown be bad? It was really big in the US and helped against the British invasion music (also good but in a different way). Buy this set and later buy additional albums not in this set like I did. I wish all of their albums could be sold packaged this way. I actually toured the Motown studio in Detroit and stood in the room where all the hits were made! The men were asked to do the moves and sing "My Girl"; the women asked to move and do "Stop! In the Name of Love". Though Stevie Wonder got bigger and Lionel Richie came later, most of the truly classic Motown was from Detroit.

The sound quality (remastering) could have been better - the recordings don't sound crisp and clear to me, but I've heard worse. This is a good value, with five Temptations1960's albums in one box set. The packaging is very good - each cd is in its own cardboard sleeve, and each sleeve has the original album cover (and back) reproduced on it.I recommend this to anyone who's not quite as picky about sound quality as I am.

Great collection for true Temptations fans.

I love the packaging for this set. It has mini covers of the 1960s classic 5 albums each with CD inside. It would be perfect if it had the other 3 classic 5 covers and CDs included. I gave it 4 stars because to me it's incomplete. There is room enough in the box for the other 3 covers and CDs. I called Motown about this being a great product and said there should be complete sets like this for all The Temptations line ups. Motown was totally clueless and is now "Motown" in name only. Though incomplete, if you are a fan or collector of The Temptations, get this one. (Also get: Emperors Of Soul 5 CD Box Set and The 50th Anniversary Singles Collection. Otherwise, stay with material that's on their discography - there are a lot of what I call 'Money Grab' CDs out there. These companies don't know who any of The Temptations are or any of their music.) T4E

I LIKED EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS PRODUCT. SUCH SMOOTH AND SILKY VOCAL CLASSICS...NO OTHER GROUP LIKE THE TEMPTATIONS...THEY SET THE PRECEDENT AND HIGH BAR FOR ANY AND ALL MALE GROUPS!!!!! MEMORY ROAD IS JUST LIKE YESTERDAY...AND NOW ALL AT THE SAME TIME...THANK YOU TEMPTATIONS!!!

I do have some"greatest hits" collections, but I wanted the actually albums as well. This fit the bill. All the albums seem to be remastered to a high level, and sound much better then the greatest hits packages. This contains all the albums with Ruffin in the lineup EXCEPT for the I Wish It Would Rain album, (which is available). The CD with Diana Ross/Supremes was a great add, (I Gonna Make You Love Me), For the price you cannot beat this. Highly Recommended.

This is a great set and i strongly recommend you to purchase this if you are a Temptations fan, i've enjoyed all 5 of these albums and the title for each speaks for itself. I have been collecting Temptations albums for quite a while and have had no complaints b/c each song has been a great one. I especially like how they come together and sing in harmony..and the moves (man oh man) and they style of dressing, very unique. If you have not purchased this cd, please do because its worth the money. And arrived on time

CD1. The Temptations Sing Smokey - Sounds greatCD2. The Temptin' Temptations - Sounds only okayCD3. Gettin' Ready - Sounds ab-so-lute-ly dreadful (you will not be able to use it)CD4. Diana Ross And The Supremes Join The Temptations - Sounds only okayThe thing is, 'The Temptations Gold' 2CD (2007) inasmuch as it has tracks from here, sounds better! And these are supposed to be newer remasters. The problem with the mastering here, apart from CD1 which is brilliant, clear and impactful, is that here they have smoothed the tracks out, and the end result is they sound 'lounge' which is terrible, because Motown wasn't supposed to sound like that. The tracks on the 2CD 'Gold' just sound nice and clear with that Classic Motown sound. Unless you've got money to burn, I really don't think you'll be happy with this, beyond CD1. A further, different observation is that all the non-hits tracks aren't up to much, trust me. This does have one hard to get track, 'A Love I Can Feel'. Finally, there's a further fault with the sound on 5 Classic Albums. Apart from CD1, the signal strength is WEAK too, it's about HALF of the level it should be, and with 'Gold', you don't have that problem.

An excellent collection of albums from what is known as the 'classic' Temptations lineup (not the original 'no hits' lineup as the late great David Ruffin replaced Elbridge "Al" Bryant). It also comes at a great price!

I have often been deceipted with recent records in mono but here we have the five albums in glorious stereo ..nearly all the tracks ..and beautiful sleeves ...

Good CD to have if you are a Temps fan this is for you. Albums say a lot about a group.
