Quality and Value!
The Dan Henry 1939 gets a lot of things right- which is awesome for the very affordable price point! It’s nice to see a leather carrying case and extra NATO strap included with the package: too many time are you underwhelmed with the the packaging of even a relatively expensive watch. The finishing on the case is exceedingly well done; the brushing on the case is wonderful, and the etched conversion scales on the case back is a fun detail that compliments the dial readings for the telemeter, tachometer, and pulsometer. The accumulation of these details demonstrates just how much of a tool watchs were in the 1930s and 1940s that the style heartedly represents. The dial in this black faced version is delightful; the applied indices look terrific, and the color scheme gives the right amount of contrast. Dan Henry’s entiasiam and love for classic time pieces are evident in the amount of detail given to the watch. To keep the watch affordable it is made in China, but it’s easy to tell it’s made with love; and that results in a quality product and breaks the stigma of Chinese manufactured goods.I would encourage you to listen to Worn&Wond’s podcast with Dan Henry on YouTube. You get a good sense the he is a genuine person making these watches to reach the largest possible audience, and if you enjoy vintage stying, you don’t have to pay the vintage price tag.

... this watch for about 4 months now and couldn’t recommend it enough
I have had this watch for about 4 months now and couldn’t recommend it enough. Dan Henry designs are very clever and the watches are very well made. The leather strap is a little boring so I put it on a dark brown perlon which looks very nice. The case is finished very well but the dial is the main attraction for this watch. Is is perfectly done and is beautiful in the light. My only criticism is I think the watch is 1 or 2 mm too big but given current trends I think the 41mm size is acceptable. I would also like a date but I think the dial looks better without one. The chronograph has a fairly smooth sweep, not just the one second ticks of most quartz chronograph. The miyota movement seems very accurate.

My favorite watch
Wow! I'm not a watch collector or anything but this watch is amazing. It truly captures the vintage aspect and feels timeless. If you can still pick this up I would highly recommend it. One of the things I love is no matter what band I put on it it looks great! Definitely my favorite watch right now. Quality is there and attention to detail is excellent for this price range. Five stars all the way!

It’s a very high quality watch with amazing machining and beautiful design
It’s a very high quality watch with amazing machining and beautiful design. Not a big fan of the leather band though, it’s a bit stiff.
