Great vintage feel
This watch is a stunner. You don't usually get this type of quality and design for this price range. The design is what really drew me to it. Everything from the case detail to the 3 dimensionality of the dial is perfect. I couldn't believe the detail on the engraved caseback either. The second time zone dial is aligned correctly and feels solid when rotating it. The two straps that it comes with are nice, and having the quick change spring bars is a plus.I'm a taller guy with a 7.5 inch wrist and this diameter is in my sweet spot. I will be on the lookout for more from this company.

... purchased a Dan Henry 1963 Pilot's watch and am happy to share my thoughts
I recently purchased a Dan Henry 1963 Pilot's watch and am happy to share my thoughts. First, as a school teacher, I look for watches that will give me the biggest bang for the buck without breaking the bank. This one certainly fits the bill. I don't expect to ever own the Heuer Autavia that this watch is fashioned after, but when I compare the two, I really think the Dan Henry actually looks better than the Heuer! The 1963 certainly has the look and feel of a much higher priced time piece. The details of its construction have been well reviewed, so I won't go into the movement and specs. I will only say that the sandwich style dial, twelve position GMT bezel, and the overall craftsmanship and design are well thought out and really speak to a high level of quality. I had read that the lume is not that great and was fully prepared to be disappointed, but in fact the lume is pretty good! I don't think it will last all night, but initially it is quite bright. I’m also very pleased with the soft Italian leather strap. What really speaks to me, is the history of this watch. I know that it has been fashioned after the Heuer Autavia, but I think these watches must also owe a lot to the 1950's and 60's Breguet XX and XXI French military watches. I like being able to see that lineage and feel like I have a watch that is not a duplicate, but certainly part of a rich tradition. Furthermore, I have a personal connection to the Lockheed Blackbird spy plane, which is deep stamped on the back. My father was an engineer who helped design America's early spy planes, and it is great to own a watch that pays tribute to those Cold War pilots and engineers. All in all, I love this watch! My only real concern is that it doesn't have a screw down crown. I'm not planning on taking this thing into the water, and certainly am not going to dive with it, but I do want it to last a long time. A screw down crown would just help reassure me. Overall, this humble art teacher and watch lover gives the Dan Henry 1963 an A+ I can't recommend it enough and can't wait to get another Dan Henry in my collection!-Bruce Black
