Great tire for an out of date size! 27x1.125 Also Good in a 700x28c
Strictly I try and have bicycles that are 700c to keep the tires somewhat interchangeable but I was fixing an old Raleigh, made in good old Nottingham England, so I had to find some 27s for it. I used to ride a 27" Spirit back in the day but not for the last couple decades or so.I bought these for a 99 Cannondale R1000 (700x28c) I was rebuilding and they worked wonderfully. I pain to install and heaven forbid I have to fix a flat roadside but they ride smooth and quick!Pros:Cost (27" = $21) & (700x28c = $27)DurabilitySmooth RideLow rolling resistanceGood puncture resistance for the priceNo flats so far!The 28c fit under my Ritchey carbon fork which is specified at 25cCons:They are a bit cumbersome to install, I did break a cheap nylon tire leverI won't ride them in the rain due to the limited amount of treadAnd yes I will buy these again when needed!

Very nice tire but extremely hard to install
Very nice tire but extremely hard to install. I wish they made these in folded versions as well. First tire I used my hands and thumbs and palms very hurting, then I literally used a plier for the second one. Good traction, fast, overall nice tire. 4* only for the difficulty in mounting these on.

Excellent puncture protection
Excellent puncture protection, which is my main concern on my commuting bike. They have about 1,000 miles on them and no punctures or pinch flats. They are on the heavy side, but I recently did a century with them on and didn't notice a performance difference from the Pasela PTs that I was running before. I did not have any trouble getting the tires on.I am happy there are still high quality tire options for the 27" wheel crowd.

Others have complained about hard mounting of this tire, ...
Others have complained about hard mounting of this tire, but mine went on OK, just needed a little lube and some persuading to get it on the rim. It is working well so far and I have not noticed any difference in handling or weight. I am not a very demanding rider though so maybe others could tell a difference.

Really heavy tire
This tire is REALLY heavy and stiff for a road bike tire. Smooth thread. I don't know if it's because it's got a ton of Kevlar or it's just cheap and heavy. I will save it to replace the back tire on my bicycle when the time comes and update my rating then.

Sturdy tire, tight fit
These tires are replacing some very old 27 x 1-1/8" gumwall tires. The Continentals ride very solidly with excellent road response. The old gumwalls had a wiggliness that made the bike feel wobbly. The old tires, however, were noticeably lighter weight. The Continentals were a tight fit, but I managed to mount them on my Araya rims without needing any tools. I've wrestled with tighter fitting tires. Of course, I've also dealt with tires that were much easier to mount.

Amazing puncture resistance
These have amazing puncture resistance. I have done over 2000 miles with them on dirt, gravel, and road. I'm genuinely surprised by how tough they are.

Great choice from what’s available in 27” tires
Awesome tire for the 27” equipped bicycles. The tie is advertised as 1 1/8, but it’s really a 1 1/16. So if your looking for a tire to get a lower rolling resistance this would be a good choice.
