best lead for many uses and any dog!
Love this product! Had to order more because mine was so great someone stole it at work!Pros: when used properly it is impossible for your dog to pop out of this lead. We have a husky and she's clever: she stops and reverses out of most collars and leashes! And bolts... this lead puts a stop to her antics. I also like it for training our 5 month old GSD: she's very mindful and this makes it easy to only apply the necessary pressure to get her attention. I leave it looser on her and when the collar even begins to tighten, brushing up over her shoulder, she checks me. It's great. Our pit bull is a lurcher, and when she sees something excited she lunges - and most leashes and collars with their multiple points of connection and contact will snap. This is one continuous rope and I've never yet had it break on me in the 2 years I used it! She has snapped countless leather collars, metal clasp leashes, etc. This lead is my preferred brand and type! It's and so great for catching strays (I work for a vet) - much easier than another material and type that may or may not hold, going back to the lurching dogs who can break multiple connection leashes and collars, or evade wimpy single weave nylon canvases or flimsy plastic slip leads. And of course: the beautiful colors!our husky has the lavendar, our GSD the red confetti, and our pit bull the starbright color. I'm the person who color codes my dogs... our girls have their own things! No cons to speak of. Like I said, I had one of these for 2 years and it was the best lead I ever had. I ordered two more today and will be getting the third probably next week, I decided I couldn't live without them!

Works for all sizes
I'm a certified dog obedience trainer. This is my go to leash for all my new clients. I also use it on my 70# gsd. Just put it way up behind the ears, you'll have to readjust from time to time. But where the head goes the body follows. Also use it for small dogs, used it for my dear French bulldog. It's exactly what I need.

Ready to snap
Received my leash. I had previously purchased the smaller one. I liked it but my puppy now needs the next size up. Leash arrived literally held together by ONE LITTLE THREAD, that looks like it has been glued back together. WTF this wouldn't be secure on a hampster! The leash is ready to snap! I'm ready to snap! I need this for training and it is not usable. No way to contact seller and when I called Amazon they said they could not help me either.

These are super well made slip lead leashes.
We only get Mendota leashes, which were recommended to us by a dog trainer. They are so durable, a well-built pit cannot break the leash by tugging. You will go flying (or your arm will fall off) before the leash will break. I never have to worry about a dog breaking the leash. Do NOTE, however, this is the 1/2" lead, not the 3/8". We only use the 1/2" because we have pits, so purchase accordingly. We have used those other flat leashes that are either slippery or rough. The flat leashes are not as comfortable when a dog yanks your arm because of the shape. And the slippery ones are hard to hold on too when the dog pulls. These leashes are round, so they don't cut into your hand like the flat leashes. Also, the flat leashes don't usually come as a slip lead.Slip leads are good for dog training. When the dog pulls, the leash tightens. If you know how to train a dog, once the dog is trained, they won't pull. If you don't know how to train a dog, this is not the leash for you.One thing about Mendota leashes is that they have leather reinforcement at the handle and at the dog end. If your dog likes to chew, they will chew the leather. That's the only time we have had to replace the leash, so just be careful not to leave the leash where your dog can get it. (Even if they don't chew the leather, they might chew the leash as well.)

Harley walks in to this lease on her own
we use to have to chase her with a clip on leash, but this one she stilcks her head in the loop. It has stunted her pulling habits, and when she does get a little crazy i just make a second loop around her back legs and i have total control again . great leash , wish we knew about it sooner
