Comfort: Delicious Bakes & Family Treats Hardcover – June 1, 2018

I bought this as a gift for a good friend. It’s one of the nicest cookbooks, especially for GBB Show fans. There are beautiful pictures with the recipes and many interesting and personal anecdotes by Candice.

Candace shares some amazing recipes from her years of baking and generational knowledge handed down to her from her grandmother. The book is sprinkled with personal experiences and baking tips in addition to many wonderful baking ideas. I have tried several of her bakes and they are absolutely delicious. The recipes are well-thought-out and easy to follow. The food photography is absolutely beautiful and inspiring. This would make a great gift for the baker in your life!

Fantastic read. I love how humble and down to earth this book reads. You can feel the gratitude Candice has for her family. Nice variety of recipes from sweet to savoury. Clear concise instructions and great conversion charts. I wish that all the recipes could have photos would be my only complaint.

I loved watching you on the show and celebrated with bubbly when you won. I love that you always stayed true to yourself, methods, and ideas. Loved the lipstick and you were never overdressed...you are and were always just right. This book is so readable and usable and so gorgeous. Tried some of the recipes already and they are spot on, well worth every penny!

Candice has lovely, tasty recipes in this wonderful cook book. No weirdo ingredients. Comfort is the word for her lovely bakes sweet and savory.She shares her Nan's recipes. Good family food...fit for commoner or king.The nice family memories included will warm your heart and put a smile on your face. It is rare to find a cook book that is filled with recipes worth trying.

Love that there are conversions included in the back for measurements. Every recipe looks and sounds delicious!

The best thing about Candice's first book - for me - is that I haven't seen it all before. And recipes I have seen before have twists/ingredients I haven't seen included before. I, for example, don't usually put banana, coconut and pineapple in my carrot cake. I do now.Recipes tried, and loved, so far are the lemon, gin & poppy seed cake (first thing I cooked due to pressure from 18 yr old gin loving son - delicious, but we couldn't wait for it to cool Candice!), the lemon and blackberry loaf, the aforementioned carrot cake and the sausage rolls (minus the backpudding, but bacon and mushrooms in my sausage rolls is a definite yes).And speaking of the sausage rolls - I really like the inclusion of some savoury recipes.

The recipes are well written, step by step instructions are easy to following the resulting bakes are excellent.The photos are useful for ensuring you aim to make your bake as near as possible looking. I like that there are lots of bakes that can be easily adapted to be gluten free, i gave my two celiac nieces each one of these books and they are loving that they can make gluten free bakes from it.There are also a number of savoury bakes and preserves. Well done Candice a really useful baking book.

Love this book. Unlike lots of cookery books, the recipes are very straight forward and easy to follow, with nice ingredients that are easy to source. I've only made a few things so far - Nan's Boiled Fruit Cake, the blondies with marshmallows, heart shaped millionaire's shortbread - and they all turned out really well and delicious.

Having bought the second book first, I immediately ordered this one!! I love the recipes and as I work my way through making them and I thoroughly enjoy reading what inspired Candice to choose particular recipes. Candice is beautiful inside and out and I’d love to meet her one day! Xx
