I purchased this knife block for my son for his new apartment. I had an old set of quality knives that I wanted to gift him and wanted to present them in something beautiful. This knife block was so perfect and did not break the bank. The color is like a deep brandy color and fit all the knives perfectly and even has room for a knife sharpener, utility scissors and steak knives. So compact, and rich wood color. The knives I gifted had black handles and I think it looked stunning on his kitchen countertop. I also suppose brushes stainless steel would look quite handsome too. Very happy with this purchase. My son was very impressed and thankful for the gift.

Not enough slots for large knives, but well built and solid.

Very nice but one of our large AJ Henckles knives did not fit. Blade was a little too wide toward the handle for the slot.

Perfect, exactly what I was looking for. I just bought a set of Ceramic knives and this is the vest "home" for them LOL.

Overall this is a very nice knife block. It will look good in any kitchen where it is placed. But there is (1) problem. The slot where you would place a chef's knife is too small. It measures about 1 9/8 ". My chef's knife blade measures 2 1/8" at it's widest part. In other words it does not fit into the block completely. I called a couple of friends and asked them to measure their knives and they a little over 2". I have thought about returning it but I have already thrown out the box and my wife really likes the way the block looks. So the knife will just have to stick out of it's slot a bit.
