MerkurRazor Futur Shaving Set

The set is absolutely stunning and worth every penny. I would say it is the Rolls Royce of razors. It has great weight, clean lines, overall well crafted.

This is an awesome set. The razor, brush and bowl are very nice.

Going on my fourth safety razor over the years. You can really tell where the extra money goes. First, the simple stand that doesn't take up a lot of space is beautiful. The satin finish has a great feel. The brush is excellent compared to my other two brushes. It's soft but firm enough to spread the lather effectively. Second the razor is very comfortable in your hand. It's size and thickness is just right. It's head not only has adjustable settings it has a guiding edge that doesn't allow the blade to "scrap" your skin. Leaving you with a clean non-irritated feel. For a guy that can only shave once a week because of my skin. This razor is worth every penny.

UPDATE: After less than one year, the brush has completely fallen apart. The bristles appear to be very cheaply glued in, and the adhesive has broken down. This is completely unacceptable for a product at this price. 2 -> 1 stars. The razor remains excellent, but you can get that on its own for $79.95.Original review:Five stars for the product itself. I have no complaints.However, there appear to be significant issues with Amazon’s stock of this item. The first one that I received had no brush, and had obviously been repackaged. The second (replacement) set had the correct items, and appeared to have the original packaging, but was covered in some sort of sticky substance. I wasn’t a huge fan of this but I washed everything off and all was good.In my opinion you’re better off getting this from a specialty shave retailer, where it will also be $100 less (at the time of this review).

I just unwrapped the set, and it appears the paint or finish is not complete on the razor... I am still unsure if this is the a real merkur razor and set... the box that it came in was unmarked. I am unsure to gift this or return it...

Excellent Merkur set. The brush is best quality bristles, soft but still has body. The adjustable razor is great, allows you to really get the right angle for comfort and use. Both are well balanced and make a very aesthetically pleasing set.

As far as a good shave goes, this is a stirling product and far out strips any Gillette or Wilkinson Sword.The razor itself has a good weight and feel to it, the angle of the shaped head is perfect and the stand out feature of this razor is the adjustable depth of the blades cut.The brush is well craft, no bristles have falling out (which makes a change) and is soft; lathering up a shave soap beautifully.The stand is a stand: well made but it's a stand at the end of the day and the drip bowl is a frosted finished glass bowl. In fact the bowl is the let down of the product as sit awkwardly on the stand rather than fit snuggly in/on it.Personally, I'd recommend you buy the razor separately (about £40.00) and purchase a decent bush (£20 - £65 for a good one) separately. Do you really need to spend the rest on a drip stand and glass bowl? Probably not.

I love this razor. Adjustment is easy and such a good shave.

A pleasure to use

Overall a great set. Razor works well and easy to rinse while shaving, making it a time saver compared to other razors of this kind. The foam brush however has been loosing hair since the very first use; a little disappointing for the high priced item.
