Sticky Paws Furniture Strips

It's true! I tried scolding & sprays but nothing did the trick with determined cats - until I bought this product. As an experienced cat owner, I was well aware that any new or strange item of furniture would be temptation to them. Cats have scent glands in their paws, so scratching is much more than just claw-sharpening - it's a way of marking their territory too, so that any new item on their patch screams out to be personalized, cat-style. I first tried Sticky Paws on a new sofa, with not much hope that it would be effective and was surprised and delighted at the result. At the first attempt at clawing, my cats immediately stopped and never tried it again. It's as if it's immediately apparent to them that this item is NOT a suitable place to claw, and most cats will get the message and never try again. So, even though the strips are almost invisible, I found that after a few weeks I could peel them off without any fear of the cats clawing the fabric. I've used them on several other new items of furniture with the same result. However, a word of caution - they're not suitable for carpets as they don't adhere properly.Some people with very determined (or stupid!) kitties might have to have a second go, but I never experienced that myself....these little wonders should be marketed as a training aid. As a cat lover, I wouldn't want anything that would frighten or disturb my cats, and Sticky Paws deter scratching without upsetting cats in any way - they simply walk away to find a more pleasant scratching post. Humane, effective and affordable - what's not to love about this product?

I was looking forward to receiving these strips as I have just bought a new fabric sofa which my cat has taken to a fancy to scratching. I had been using a repellent spray but didn't really like the idea of using this on my new sofa and making it stink. However when applying the strips, they just would not stick. I tried a few in different areas but to no avail, they would just not stay on the sofa. Complete waste of money.Received great customer service from Amazon, returned the item and received a refund a couple of days later.

we were very skeptical of these given the mixed reviews.. Ours worked a treat, the cat never goes near the sofa now. I guess it comes down to a combination of material (will it stick? we have a fabric sofa and it sticks perfectly) and the cat itself. I think its one of those things that is pretty cheap and you just have to try it... it'll work for some people and not for others but we're pretty happy with it.

We bought these as we were moving to a new rented apartment and were worried that our cat would destroy the sofa. We hoped that by lining the sofa with these - we would stop any nasty habit from forming.So, they arrived and I put them up with some minor difficulty. They do stick to your fingers so placing then all flat was a bit tricky. They are quite narrow and there arent that many strips in a packet so i ended up placing them horizontally rather than vertically so i coiuld get more of the back of the couch covered.I suppose they worked in that the cat didnt approach the sofa but they started to peel after a couple of days and looked so ugly that I took them all down after a week. As other reviewers have mentioned - double sided tape would be as efficient and considerably more cost effective!

My cats had ripped my old leather sofa to shreds and when they started on my new leather sofa enough was enough! I saw this product on Amazon, and at £9.99 I thought it was definitely worth a try, especially with the positive reviews already received. There are 24 wide 'double sided sticky tape' which are of a decent length too. They stick to the problem areas on your furniture (mine being the sofa legs) and the cats get deterred from scratching as they get stuck to the tape! I was a bit worried about taking the tape off and marking the sofa but i've tested it and it seems fine and hasnt marked it all all. They stay sticky for ages, i've not changed mine yet and they've been on nearly two months. I'm debating taking them off now and hope that the cats have got the message! If not i'll just put some new ones back on! Definitely worth a try for the price if you have problem areas/cats in the house!

Ruined my vintage leather sofa. When I took the tape off (very slowly at that), it pulled away some of the colouring. Scratch marks would have been better!

Very hard to split from backing and generally ineffective. Expensive, especially for a product with so many flaws.

After seeing mixed reviews I bought some anyway just to see if they do in fact work.My cat scratches at the carpet in doorways, being in rented accommodation is not ideal for this so figured to give them a go.Put strips down both sides of the door and so far so good! 3 days now with no scratching at doorways and she seems to be using her post more!They don't stick particularly well to the carpet and accidentally stepping on one instantly removes it. We leave most of our doors open anyway and bedroom door is sliding so shutting a door and them coming up isn't a problem, however I reckon it would be should we need to close the other doors.Overall they do Work, but they're a tad unsightly on the floor and not very sticky.

Excelente para entrenar a un gato. Mi pareja tiene un gato de 14años que le tenia los muebles destrozados, lo compre cuando nos mudamos juntos y no tengo ni un arañazo en los muebles.

This is on each corner of my fabric lounge and it's barely visible unless you're looking very closely. My two cats don't even attempt to scratch the corners of my lounge anymore.

Ich habe diese Dinger zwei tage auf meinen Möbeln oben gehabt, abgesehn davon dass es die Katzen nicht fernhaltet hat es meine Möbel ruiniert der Kleber ist komplett zurückgeblieben am Kunstleder und das Leder ist abgegangen siehe Foto. Ich kriege zwar mein Geld zurück aber werde auch noch eine Entschädigung für meinen Sessel verlangen!
