Burns well
Large port reduces the need to process wood to short lengths or small diameter as you must with other burners such as gasifiers and the Firebox. Longer, thicker splits and thumb sized twigs feed in nicely (with excess protruding) and the top concentrates flame well for cooking. It’s easier than the others, though uses more wood. Base stand not needed for a burn as long as ground is fire safe. You can save weight by leaving the base behind. Even then it’s not “light”, but backpackable if you want to trade weight for fuel freedom. Lighter than my steel Firebox5. I take away a star because it’s somewhat fiddley to assemble and it will come apart easily if overstuffing wood. I modified with cotter pins in 4 top tabs to resolve. Works fine. Grill is a bonus. Comes with some utility gloves. Not perfect, but a pleasant surprise for the price.

Just ok.
Good concept but needed refinement. A bit fiddly to assemble but manageable. The tabs on the stove itself needed to be designed better in the way they connect to the base, I've yet to fire it up but have a feeling it may fall off the base when feeding the box. Good guage steel and robust but like i mentioned it needed better contact (secure) to the base.

Needs better directions on how it assembles
I bought this as a 2 for 1 deal. It comes with a base that raises the box off of the ground. But I found that I can use the base sideways to keep the wind off of the firebox, if I put the box straight on the ground. The box is made out of stamped steel, and not too flimsy. The base is already put together, which is good because the assembly directions are junk. The rest of the pieces fit into slots. If you put the pieces all together except for 1 wall, then it fits together, by sliding in that last wall piece. It took me an hour to figure that out. Since I will be car camping with this fire box, I'm not taking it apart. I believe the box and the base is worth about $12 each, so it's perfect for me and my wallet. This box is a good size and it fits my frying pan perfect. It also comes with a grill that is more than adequate to cook a hamburger or small steak on. The box has good ventillation. I give it 5 stars for size, integrity and strength. But a big fat zero for assembly.
