Delighted with this jacket!
Ive spent alot of time looking at high-priced jackets and ended up taking a punt on this jacket thinking that if not suitable, will be returned! However, jacket arrived today and I was delighted the moment I opened the packaging. This is a 1st class jacket, well made, neoprene type outer fabric so clearly waterproof, fleece lined in green. Good strong zips for the pockets, hood folds neatly and sewcures with a velcro strap when not in use. Both arms have a velcro patch for you to add badges, flashes etc like current British Military clothing.I would say that the sizing is perfect. I am borderline medium/large and went for the large. This is a nice fit wearing a t-shirt, but still plenty of room underneath to layer up when needed. My primary use for this jacket is country persuits, dog walking and pest control. Last thing I will mention is the camo pattern. This is not advertised as Realtree camo as nowhere on the jacket is the realtree logo. However, as a fan of realtree, I would be happy to say that it will pass as realtree with no drama's, the camo on this jacket is 1st class, and I am very critical! Please feel free to pester me if you have any questions!

Tough, well made jacket, design could be improved
I've just bought my third!I bought my first jacket in "green" which is a camo pattern for wildlife photography. Large for me is just right as I'm broad shouldered and stocky but short, it allows me to wear a fleece or gilet underneath if it's cold.I then bought an army green medium for spring/summer/autumn days that were not cold as it's a slimmer fit, the arms and jacket body are shorter, the whole jacket feels less bulky and I only wear a T-shirt underneath.I've just bought a large in black for winter when I don't want to look like a poacher/hunter going for a walk in a camo jacket! For the price these are brilliant. Many walks in my area involve pushing your way through gorse and brambles and I don't like doing that in my expensive gore-tex mountain walking jackets. I don't remember ever feeling the brambles through these jackets! They really take punishment, so they would be good for hunting, fishing, paintball, air soft etc.Cheap enough to replace if wrecked. I've had my original for over a year, lots of bramble bushes later and no rips, tears or even snagged threads! The only wear is the draw cord on the waist came loose on one side and was easily repaired. There are negatives though. The design needs improving, the two on shoulder pockets are large enough for a big screen mobile phone but the zip opening is too small to make it easy to get a big mobile in and out.The on wrist pocket is just big enough for a bunch of car/house keys (like a ski pass holder). The two side pockets you can put your hands in are tall but narrow and not deep enough. They will just fit a winter glove each (when flat and vertical in the pocket) but anything will fall out if the pockets are left open. Don't put your mobile in there! There is a large map pocket on the lower back area with a zip at each end but you won't really be able to use that if you're wearing a rucksack. The outer material is waterproof but definitely not very or not at all breathable. Any sustained physical activity will lead to the inside feeling clammy. The fleece lining does help reduce this. While all of the pockets, if left open can be used for venting, there are also long under arm vents (without mesh). It doesn't have taped seems but in short heavy showers I've had no leaks. The medium sized jacket has a smaller hood which is a bit too small for my head (the peak of the hood doesn't come far enough forward) but as I bought this for dry days it's not too bad. The large size hood is roomy and you can wear a hat underneath that too. They do have re-enforced elbows. The material is relatively thick and stiff compared to other soft shell jackets I have but then these are tougher jackets.Folding down to put into a rucksack means they still take up quite a bit of space. In summary: a compromise. They are tough cheap jackets. Pockets need redesign and breathability isn't great but maybe that would push the price up too much.

On the small side! Buy big!
Comes up small so get a size larger than you usually do and ignore the not so helpful advice to buy your usual size. I should have ordered XL as I’m usually an L. Also, return to China is an absolute nightmare so I’m stuck now with a cheap hoodie that does not fit (I’ll use as another layer but bit of a waste of £24). So, I’ve now bought from a UK based seller instead. If you order the correct size I think you’ll be satisfied ( if cheap an cheerful is for you and BTW looks shower proof and no more - weekend warriors be advised).

Love this from first time I wore it.
I was a bit wary of this jacket only because of the size guide. I have a 45 inch chest size and am 6ft tall and I ordered the XL. Turns out to be a great fit. Maybe even a bit of room for another top on top of my t shirt. Although I doubt I would need it as it felt very warm. I ran the jacket arm under the tap for a few minutes and water just ran off. Inside never got damp.I was a bit disappointed the hood did not roll away completely at first but having used it I found the hood can be rolled up in two positions. Roll right up for a low collar thick and snug around the neck or roll half way for a nice high collar to shield from the wind.I am yet to use this out on a day trip yet but I think this will be perfect for those windy and drizzling days. May get a thin top waterproof layer just to make sure but this should cope with most things. Love it.
