... load of reviews an opinions about which is the best Zombicide set to get
I picked this game after reading and watching a load of reviews an opinions about which is the best Zombicide set to get. None actually recommended this one over the others, but I picked it based on the theme, characters and that it's the most recent version of "present day" zombicide. I'm thouroughly pleased with my choice. This set has a lot of content. With 12 survivors you have a real choice as to what type of character to play as. As games are typicllly played using 6 survivors, this means that there is a bit more variation in the game. The tiles are roughly speaking one side streets and one side hospital, so maps can be all city, all hospital, or some combination. The zombie models are varied and interesting. There are 3 types of male walker, 2 types of female walker, a male and female type of runner, 3 male and 2 female types of crawler, and the Abomination. The crawler rules are a nice addition to the game, and if you don't like it you can just ignore it and use the crawler models as walkers. While I originally thought that the dice with a molotov icon for a 6 and a zombie logo for a 1 were a bit gimmicy and would have preferred normal dice, these icons are really helpful for reminding you about the crawler (roll a 1, defeated walker becomes crawler) and bow (roll a 6, arrow power increases) rules when they occur. Otherwise I'd keep forgetting. While this set is completely backwards compatible, it does similify some some things to compensate for adding some things. There is no explanation of the "zombivor" rules in this game, and no zombivor models, but the character cards are double-sided with the zombivor characters if you want to use that rule.Overall, I'm very pleased with this set.

It's a total blast
I'm a pretty keen board gamer but by no means an expert. I'd been considering getting Zombicide for a long long time but was put off by the price and the fact that there seems to be a mixture of opinion in gaming circles about how good it really is. I also didn't know where to start as there are 3 core sets and loads of expansions.Well a couple of weeks ago I was lucky enough to play a it at a games evening - we played season 2, and I had a total blast. I had such a good time I then immediately decided to fork out for my own set. I opted for Season 3, as it's the latest one and it comes with some new player vs player rules and 12 survivors and a helicopter. So it seemed to have a lot of good stuff in the box and you have loads of scenarios and additional ones you can download later.Well I've since played the first 2 scenarios and I'm hooked. The people I played with immediately liked it too. It's pure fun. The rules are pretty straightforward and you don't have to spend hours consulting the manual for every obscure rule. It's like playing a B-movie or an episode of the walking dead. Your team of survivors has to achieve a number of objectives while killing as many zombies as possible using whatever weapons you can find, and eventually making your escape. You have to make sensible decisions on sticking together or splitting up and you need to plan ahead a little. It won't necessarily tax your brain the way a lot of Euro games will, but you will have a total blast playing it - I guess you have to like the Zombie genre though to really get into it.The box, the figures, the board, the cards and everything inside are top drawer quality too. I already painted my survivors and started painting the zombies.Anyway - if you like the zombie genre, you like board games and you like a few laughs then get this game. Perfect for a few hours with some friends, a pizza and a few beers. Complex enough to make you think but not a game that takes an hour to set up before you play. In what other board game would you find yourself saying "You open the door and then I'll hit the fattie with my fire axe!"

The best of the bunch
The best of the bunch. Season 3 builds on all of the mechanics that made the first and second iterations such solid gaming experiences. In addition, it repairs a number of broken mechanics, smoothing out the gameplay into something that feels fine-tuned and well thought out. If you buy one season, make it Season 3. If you need more, the expansions are fantastic additions. Once you own this version, it's easy to apply the refinements to earlier editions of the game, as well, which can make it fun to combine seasons for even more epic outings.

Fun and easy to pick up
Got this for my nephew. I own the first release of Zombicide, and if that's anything to go by then this is a easy to pick up for anyone (even those not into board games), fun, addictive, co-op (can even be play by ones lonesome) with a lot of depth. Not my favourite board game ever, but most likey the best overall. Well done Cool Mini or Not.

Us against the zombie horde!
A fantastic game. I love how you play it together against the zombies rather than against each other. The game itself is high quality, and although I received a miss printed instruction manual I did receive a correct one eventually. The little trays that hold your character cards and weapons etc is a nice touch that makes playing several characters much easier.

Great fun and easy to play
Great fun to play but needs a longer session to play takes well over an hour per map. Easier the pick up than I expected

Great game
Great game, easy to play. Best with 3-4 people in my mind, after that it's a little harder to invest and there is a lot of down time.
