Beautifully Written
The stanzas here take a moment to resonate, but are heartfelt and headstrong. Beautiful and require a moment to take root. I appreciated these words as they fester in the memory.

Timeless Rumi Treasures
This is a remarkable collection that captures the essence of Rumi's timeless wisdom and boundless love through an exquisite and candid translation. As you delve into these pages, you'll be transported to a world of profound spiritual awakening, with each poem blossoming with meaning and resonating deeply with the human soul. While some translations may vary in their impact, S. Morteza Lajevardi's work stands out for its authenticity, though it may miss some of the mystical flow found in other versions. The collection is thoughtfully organized into sections on love, happiness, candle, light, and heart, offering readers a diverse and enriching experience. Despite the lack of poem titles, this book remains a treasure trove of enlightenment, perfect for both longtime fans and newcomers to Rumi's work.

Pure love, as seen from a Persian religious perspective
A poignant collection of Persian love stories expressed in poetry. It focuses on various aspects of pure love as seen from the old Persian religious perspective. The poem collection also touches on topics like happiness, light, purity, and commitment to GodAll the poems in this collection are centered around the presence and worship of God (presumably the Islamic god, Allah). My understanding is that this book is part of a collection of similar poetry with Persian roots. My opinion? It is surely an interesting exploration into understanding how love stories can be woven into a religion that is traditionally very strict, rigid, and uncompromising

A beautiful collection
The work of the Persian poet and mystic Rumi has always been my favorite poetic source of inspiration, connection, and wisdom. This collection of Rumi's poetry is lovely. The works were well-chosen, well-organized, and well-translated. I enjoyed reading through from start to finish, but will also use the book to flip through for random bits of inspiration in the future. Rumi's soul-infused work is, in my opinion, incomparable, and I'm glad to have this collection of his work, as some of it I have never read before.

A Lovely “Garden” to Soothe the Soul
Personally, I loved this book of Rumi’s poems. Using the words from the author’s introduction- the five keywords that are in Rumi’s poems - love, happiness, candle, light and heart are “like food for the soul”. This book is a lovely gift to pass on to a loved one ( or to keep on hand for your self as a reminder to spread peace and love ).

Rumi
Not a bad selection of Rumi but there are others more comprehensively written.

A more literal translation of Rumi's poems by a native Persian speaker
A new translation by a native Persian speaker of a selection of Rumi’s beloved poems, presented in five sections: love, happiness, candle, light, and heart. Those who appreciate Rumi’s mystical poetry will know there are seemingly endless translations, and some translations may resonate more strongly with the reader than others. While S. Morteza Lajevardi’s translation feels authentic to Rumi’s individual words, some of the beauty, flow, and mysticism inherent in other translations is lost along the way. That said, Rumi was at once medieval and modern, his poems transcending place and time, and this more literal translation of his works still stands up well.Though Rumi’s poems never originally carried titles, over the centuries many of his poems have attracted titles, often based on the first lines or on the core themes of the poem in question, and it would be a good addition to this book to include these titles, to enable to reader to read between translations or to look up the longer pieces the translated lines may belong to.

*Until whenever I live, love is my candy"
I have read a fair amount of western poetry. Having read Gilbran, ( I adored The Prophet especially) ,I wanted to expand my reading and Rumi was suggested to me. This is my first experience and I cannot, therefore, compare with other translations to English or with interpretations by others. The very brief biography at the beginning was welcome. As with any poetry, one reading is rarely enough and so I will be rereading to absorb and better understand, though some lines are very straightforward and beautiful:"I am yours. Don't give me back to myself"
