if you're on the fence, take the plunge! i have 8 cats who pretty much have the run of the house, but there are rooms that i don't want them to go in, yet don't want to entirely close that part of the house off--esp bedrooms, where they go under sheets/blankets & leave hair everywhere… tv room with cords, and where i keep plants… and bathroom, where they shred tp, chew on shower curtain liner, etc. several years ago i rigged an interesting diy "door" from a pinterest tutorial using closet shelving, eye hooks, and key rings. i thought it was clever, and it worked. but it was definitely a diy-looking contraption! haha! when i saw this i balked at the price, but figured if it was dumb, i could just return it & continue with my homemade "door."when i unpacked it, i could not figure out what the 2 additional white metal poles were for--i think to extend the width of the gate/door frame in case your doorway is wider than the frame w/o them. my doorway was so narrow, that i had a hard time even adding the bolts that secure it to the wall and tighten them. there is a bag of nuts, but nowhere is it explained what to do with them. i was surprised when i put the bolts into the corners that there wasn't threading inside that the bolt would be screwed into--weird. although i didn't find the instructions to be helpful AT ALL, it is pretty self-explanatory. it probably took me a total of 30 minutes from unpacking to installation. i love it! it's easy to open, and it closes quickly & securely on its own. i would buy a couple more, but not at this price. too bad because it really is a fabulous & much-needed device.

This product works great! We needed a sturdy gate for my senior 78 pound dog. He doesn't like staying in his crate and this gate enables us to give him free roam of a bedroom so that he's more comfortable and safe. The locking mechanism is sturdy and I love how the gate swings both outward and inward when opening.When I hear the gate latch I can leave in confidence knowing my dog is safe and secure behind it. The height is perfect also. And installation was a cinch.

It was good for six months and then the top mechanism that pivots snapped. It is cheap and weak. As others have said, don’t buy. Over $100 lost.

We spent 6 months trying to keep our visiting cats separated; I've tried the mesh door screen with velcro netting that wraps around the entire doorway - the Velcro pulled away from the frame. I've tried the retractable mesh gate - my cats pushed under it, then jumped over it. This gate solved all my problems! It was EASY to install - everything is pressured-mounted. It is VERY tall and sturdy so cats can't jump over it, push under it or crawl through it. It was more money than I originally wanted to spend, and it took almost a month to get to here, but it was VERY well worth it! I highly recommend if you have animals that you definitely want to keep separated from different rooms or from other animals! I love this gate!

The problem with it that I had was that we were trying to keep our dog out away from a kitten that we had rescued at first the cat was trying to figure around it then it got on my dresser that was only a few feet over met and it can jump on top or clear The whole fence since it doesn’t go all the way up this thing only work if you have a A doorway otherwise There will be a big gap above eventually didn’t even need my dresser. It could easily just jump to the top and get over. I had to cover the top and then I figured out a screen door worked with A net or chicken wire and by the way, the door isn’t connected all the way when you first get it you have to put in an additional bars that don’t fit all the way I had to use some tape and the door doesn’t click all the way comes with a zip tie on it

Easy to install, works as it should. I taped the top lock so it wouldnt latch as I found that having to lift the gate and unlatch the lock was a pain when having to do it multiple times a day. It is still perfectly secure and keeps the cats away from each other. If you were using it for a dog or child I would not tape the latch.

This gate is incredibly fragile. Every 6 months to a year, it needs to be replaced because the bottom latch breaks and the gate comes off the frame. I've bought this 3 or 4 times and every single time it's the same story. Avoid unless you want to replace this gate often!

My order arrived with all parts. I did have to watch a video on YouTube in order to figure out how to assemble it, but assembly is fairly simple. I did it by myself. I am using it to isolate a skittish cat that I recently adopted. He hasn't tried to leap over this gate yet, so I'm not sure if it's completely cat proof, but I'm using a inexpensive expandable window screen at the top just in case he can clear the top of this gate. Seller reached out to me without prompting about parts included in my order that there was possibly an incorrect part in the box. However, that wasn't the case for my shipment. Everything was as it should be. I'm very impressed with both the product and the seller.
