Great book
This is one of the best books I have read in years. I highly recommend. Easy to read and full of real history and world events. Broad appeal..

Too much filler, fluff, and unimportant moments
When almost half of the 100 moments that are supposed to tell the story of the world, are in fact completely unimportant isolated events in the grand scheme of things, then you know you’ve got a dud. I was super interested to get this book, thinking I’d be reading a summary of the evolution of mankind’s history. Boy, was I wrong. There are so many moments included in this book that have had minimal if any impact on the way history has developed, the book should’ve been titled “More than 50 moments in world history that no one remembers because it’s actually an unimportant, isolated moment” Also, Neil Oliver’s writing style may be ok if he wrote a novel or a poetry. But it’s completely misplaced here. Unimportant events or facts that could be described in one sentence, he drags on for several paragraphs as if he was writing a poet. I skipped so many pages because they were mere filler text to fill pages. I would definitely NOT recommend this book to people who want to learn more about events in mankind’s history that actually had a long-lasting impact on the world.
