Disgusted.
This is shocking, I’ve literally just opened the box, the boots are dirty, scuffed, clearly been worn and the zip on one of them is broken!

Like wearing slippers! (not any more)
I have now worn these boots for 6 months working on the railway. The soles have hardly worn, zips are still perfect despite what some buyers say, there is a little bit of wear on the outside of boot but that is down to the position of me working and the leather rubbing on hard surfaces. I have had these for 6 months and only had to replace the laces. These boots have been worked hard and I walk many miles every day in them, they feel like I am wearing slippers and when they do give up on me I will be buying again.update, purchased 2nd pair as was so pleased but the second pair are hurting my left foot which is very odd, seems like they are crushing my toes together, now opted for different boots as the 2nd pair has been a waste of money.

but they are the best boots I have ever owned
Take some serious breaking in, but they are the best boots I have ever owned, and I am not easily pleased! Top quality, I use them for dog walking my Staff, they can handle wet grass and any weather really well.My Extra Review After A Year Of Wearing These BootsWell as many will say, the beautiful lining of these boots goes in the 1st month, a shame, but then they become like normal boots you have to break in, when you do, I personally found them VERY comfortable, the most comfortable boots I ever owned in fact. I am just starting to wear out the outside of these boots a year and a month after original purchase. The stitching is now coming apart on the back panel of one of the boots. However! If you consider that I have a large dog who needs 3 walks a day minimum in winter, and 4 walks a day in summer, those miles add up over a year, so I have probably tested the boots to their limit now, as we covered all terrains, weathers and hill slopes, they remained well waterproofed in all that time, and became like a second skin, stayed comfortable. If this company invested in a new material for the wonderful cushioned inner layering they have in these boots, one that lasts more than a month of hard use, then I would call them the perfect affordable boot.I'm keeping the 5 stars though because they have served me extremely well and I shall probably have to buy another pair now, but they are still the same price, so that tells you something. The zips stayed in good working order all that time too, which sped up my dog getting his walk of course. But I was careful with them and used them with care. Look after these boots, and they will certainly look after you.

Good Enough to Buy Again
I bought a pair of these in 2016 after my previous patrol boots were badly damaged in a fire. I needed some cheap boots to put me on for a month or two so I took a punt on these. Right away I was impressed by how comfortable and sturdy they were, so I just kept on using these rather than replacing them with a more expensive brand as planned. And month after month they've been perfectly fine and survived the rigours of patrol without issue. Three years on and they have just got to a point where I need to replace them after the side zip broke (probably the weakest point of these boots). The rest of the boots are still serviceable. I was considering buying some Altbergs, really good boots with a matching price tag (I will still buy some for personal use), but then I thought about whether or not I really want to spend that much on boots for work when I could get another pair of these that would see me through another two or three years. A no brainer really, so I've just ordered another pair. They'll do me for a couple more years on patrol before I look to do something less demanding as I wind down to retirement.

Pleasantly surprised! I would reccomend these.
I bought these as a cheap 'make do' pair while I ordered better. I did not notice the zip, had I I would of not ordered them to be quite honest as -in my vast experience - cheap and zips don't mix regarding footwear.I WAS WRONG!I have used these boots for a few months now, daily for a considerable time.I thought they would be painful to initially wear. I was wrong, they have not caused any chafing, blisters or such like.I thought they would leak and or fall apart instantly. I was wrong, they are just as good now as when purchased and believe me I am not kind to my boots at all!I honestly thought The zip would not in a million years least even though a full day! Boy was I wrong. Not only does it function perfectly in all conditions it makes taking them on and off quick and very easy. I do however give the zip a few drops of wd40 every day or two after brushing a bucket full of mud from them. I don't even know if this helps but I actually like the ease of the zip, makes life so much easier, so want to at least try a little maintenance to prolong its life.

Honestly? These have been pretty ace!
I despise ordering shoes online. It's hard to get the size right, different sellers do different things, and if something goes horribly wrong, you're screwed. Now these boots...They arrived just as I expected: The right size, the right shape..just one problem. The zip on one of the shoes was broken. Blast.Fortunately, I'm a fine connoisseur of zip repair, so I fixed that badboy up, and now it only occasionally gives me trouble. If you're looking for something to really march in, you might want to get something without the zip: Sure, it makes putting them on a breeze, but if overstressed they'll rupture on you, and you'll be left looking silly.
