Awesome game
This game is a family favorite. I have a large family with a wide variety of ages, so it's sometimes hard to find a game that will include everyone. We always play this game with the girls v. the guys, and it always proves to be a great challenge for our highly competitive family. The questions include a wide enough variety of topics that the engineers have as much fun as the grade schoolers. The only drawback is that there are a limited number of decks which means a limited number of opportunities to play, unless you want to repeat questions.

Only downside is lack of replayability
I don't believe this is anywhere near as bad as some reviewers have implied. In fact, overall, it's funner for people that typically don't like trivia games, but hardcore competitive "brainiac"-types may hate it.There are only 12 packets of questions, meaning that you can only play it 12 times before the questions repeat. That's the big downside. If you could buy more sets of questions for a fair price, I would give it a full 5 stars. As it stands, that works out to about $1.25 per game. A pittance for the amount of fun this provides, assuming you're not a trivia whiz or incredibly dumb/cheap. Some questions are surprisingly easy, but most are at least a little challenging and allow you (and your team) to at least make an educated guess to get SOME points. It plays more like a game show between 2 teams. There are 4 rounds and 6 questions per round so each team will be asked a total of 12 questions per game unless someone gets around the board early. A team can advance up to 6 spaces per question. The goal is the advance as far around the board in those 4 rounds. Very different from the usual format. There are also many diffeent question types:a) 5 true/false... if you miss one, you lose all your accumulated points; if you get all 5 you get a bonus point. You can also stop and simply walk away with all the points you haveb) name 6... for example, maybe it's asking to name 6 football teams (out of 8) in the NFC West and East. You only get 6 guesses and 1 point for each correct onec) easy/hard... the easy is worth only 3, the hard is worth the full 6; and sometimes the easy is actually harder than the expert questiond) 3 questions... each correct answer is worth 2 pointse) multiple choice... pick from 4 choices. Getting it on your first guess nets 6, the second guess gets you 3 points, and the third guess is 1 point. The questions here are often difficult, but it's pretty tough to pick the wrong answer 3 times in a row. It's pretty humiliating when it happens, though.f) choose an expert - one teammate can answer by themselves for 6 (with no help or hints) or the team can collaborate for only 3. With small teams, we almost always went for 6 unless way ahead. Each round the cards start face-down so you only know the category, but not the question type or (of course) the question and answer. We played girls versus boys (2 on 2) and the ladies, who normally hate trivia games and get bored pretty quickly, had a blast and it was very competitive. Ordinarily, there's no way I would expect to play that much Trivia Pursuit in such a short period of time but the format is truly fun. Sometimes a topic that seems really hard and everyone avoided ends up being a multiple choice question that anyone can get points on and other times what might seem like a slam dunk is actually pretty hard.If you could buy 20 more sets of questions for a reasonable price, I think they'd have a winning formula here.

We liked it!
At first glance this game seems too complicated, but once you get into it, it rolls right along with more fun and interest than most any party game we've tried. Who cares if the number of plays are limited. We expect it to last through several more New Year's Eve get togethers of our five couples (men vs women).

Only 12 sets of questions
I've had this game for a couple of years. I decided to finally open it and bring it to my trivia meetup. There are 12 sets of cards for 12 games. Each game consists of four rounds with six questions each. Questions are from the categories in the original Genus edition - Geography, Entertainment, History, etc. There are six types of questions, multiple choice, are you an expert, true/false, etc. The instruction sheet explains these. There are two teams. You move ahead on the board if you answer correctly. The one game we played, one team reached the finish during the third round. This game is about 10 years old. It's a new way to play the game, but it has limited play value since it just has cards for 12 games. The questions are challenging and not ridiculously easy like some of the more recent editions of the game. One thing that bugs me is why the Hell did they change the brown piece to purple? I think it looks too much like the pink piece. I hate it when they change somnething in a popular game for no reason. but overall, this provides an interesting and different way to play TP. But keep the instuction sheet handy - you'll need it.

Trivial Pursuit Team Game
I ordered this for game night with friends. It arrived right on time. I'm pleased with the game and we had a great time playing the game with the women outsmarting the men. I think this is definitely a game we will play over and over again.

but everyone in my family (ages 22 - 65) enjoyed playing it
Not sure it was actually shorter than regular Trivial Pursuit, but everyone in my family (ages 22 - 65) enjoyed playing it!

disapppointing...
My family loves Trivial Pursuit, and family games usually degrade quickly into people just screaming out answers as they walk by rather then an organized game, so i thought this would be the ticket! WRONG. this game is confusing and what was purchased to make playing easier in a group made it more difficult. I also purchased the party game by trivial pursuit. We haven't played yet, but I'm hoping for the best!!
