Almost a Lost Film But Worth Having
The extras on this are fantastic, the chapter it represents in American history and film history is too important not to include in your home entertainment library, the last bastion of free cinema. The movie never made money so the DVDs are bargains. This dealer should be thanked and praised. Delivery was fast, even early. I don't care what one's politics are, or their feelings about Oliver Stone, this is a classic.

Good cast (James Wood at his best)
Good cast (James Wood at his best), film politically engaged about a civil war we haven't talked enough. Tension increasing a along the film, you absolutely want to know what will happen next. Only disappointment: the text and explanation that appear at the end of the film just before the film's credits: it misleads the spectator: despite the character played by James Wood has existed, the rest of the events and characters of the film are mainly fictional. The mix of historical facts and fictional facts in this text/explanation at the end of the film is confusing and annoying as you could take from true or reality fictional facts.

brings a new dimension to a classic film
It would be hard to rate the film itself as anything other than a 5, and the Dvd presentation is excellent and crammed with extra features which add an extra dimension to the film. The making of documentary is the suprise highlight, and must rate as the most honest and enlightening making off documentary to be included on any Dvd, its actually far more nlightening than the directors commentary. The film itself is based on a true story of gonzo journalists covering the civil war in el salvador during the 70s and 80s, jim belushi and james woods not possibly being the most likely team, but they are both at their best, far surpassing the mass of dross both worked on post salvador. There are very few englsih films which depict such an insightful view of central america, and its hard nor to draw comparisons with events of now.a great dvd for any collection, the story of the making of the film being as entertaining as the end product, lots of cut scenes and extra material, strangley though the making of documentary contains scenes which werent in the film or in the extra cut scenes.
