Didn't have much power.
I seen this and it reminded me when I was little,so I borght it for my kids because I thought something different to play with, but I was gutted the potatoe kept getting stuck in the barrel, and it didn't go very far when it did shoot.Didnt seem like it was much power in it.

Fun gun, just like i remember, fires quite far. Good to show kids what i had, everyone in family had a good go at shooting.

It’s a classic!
It’s a classic! Who doesn’t love a spud gun. Design hasn’t changed in 30 years! Youngest loves it as much a I did back then!

So close and yet so far...
This looks and feels like the spud guns of my youth and I was excited to start using it. It has a purely cosmetic hammer which you can cock before firing and that’s kinda cute. The gun itself feels well put together and it feels like it would survive being dropped during play. But sadly that’s where the good ends. The barrel of the pistol is so badly machined that there is a great bump. This mashes the potato and therefore you don’t get a good seal so the ejected pellet only goes a couple of feet. At best. Probably 3 out of 4 pellets need to be picked out of the gun as they won’t fire at all. When you look at the barrel, you can see air gaps around the side of the pellet which is why it won’t fire. If you were using these for a battle, you’d have to stand so close together that you could pretty much bite chunks of potato and just spit them at each other more effectively.I could probably drill out the barrel to make it smoother but it’s just not worth the effort. Sadly disappointed. Very glad that I tested this myself before telling my kids I bought it for them else they’d be disappointed too.Maybe spend more on a higher price version provided it’s not just the same gun being sold at higher profit.
