Airfix 1:72 Messerschmitt Bf109E-3 Starter Set (A55106)

If you guys wanna get into scale models, this is a perfect place to start along with youtube videos. I ordered two kits from airfix, one of them had all the paint opened and spilt in the plastic bag it comes in, I contacted the company with my concerns and they just shipped me brand new paint free of charge from Europe (I live in West Coast America). Amazing customer service and a great kit to start with.I may be brand new to this hobby, and do not have alot of experience with other brands. But from a "loving of quality" position, I can say that the molds are extremely well made, everything fits flush and tight. Truly a great company and a great product! I cannot say enough with how happy I am I chose this company/product to start my modeling career/hobby.

Good construction, a bit complicated at parts, but worth every second. I recommend watching some build videos though. For model railroaders, this is slightly larger than HO (1:87), and OO (1:76) scale, but smaller than S scale (1:64).

When I mean complete, I mean like you have never even seen a video of someone building a model plane. There are not much decals, and the parts are not very accurate. When they say small model, they mean small. It's either that all BF-109 kits in 1/72 scale are small, or this kit is not actually 1/72 scale. What comes with the kit is also misleading. They never tell you how to thin the paint and they also never tell you that it is not a good idea to use the plastic cement that comes with the box isn't good with clear parts. If you are going to get this kit, okay, but make sure to do some research first.

When the package containing the model kit arrived, the paints included in the box were dried. It’s a good thing they can be reactivated with water.

It's considered a Lvl 1 difficulty, and i agree, but some parts are very small and easy to brake, extra caution needed!the model came togheter nice and easy.Only down side is the pait for the bottom of the plane (the light grey), is not actually light grey... is a light greeneish blue... i choose to not use it and i used insted a light grey (from a spitfire kit!! LoL).Amazing and powerfull cement Glue! (better then other kits that come in "a blue package")

Salut,Excellente réplique du BF-109E, kit moderne avec une gravure en creux, bien détaillé et surtout je les ai eu pas chers (j'en ai pris deux, à 5,28€ pièce plus frais de port gratuits chez un revendeur partenaire d'Amazon!!!), c'est d'ailleurs pour cela que j'ai acheté des "starter kit", car d'habitude je préfère acheter une boite simple sans la peinture, la colle et le pinceau, mais la il n'y avait aucune raison de se priver...Seul reproche peut-être, il y a qu'une seule décoration dans la boite mais les planches de décalques sur le sujet ne manquent pas dans le commerce...

A very well detailed model that I enjoyed building. All the main parts fitted together well, some of the smaller ones needed a bit of trimming/filing to get them to sit correctly in their place. I was a bit disconcerted when I began painting the model as the number 65 paint appeared far more turquoise than the grey that the painting instructions indicated it should be. However, now I have finished the model and attached the decals it looks good. Some of the smaller parts such as the aerial and the tail struts are delicate and need to be handled with extreme care if any excess plastic needs to be trimmed off.Another good model from Airfix.

Excellent Airfix kit with good quality paints and glue. Thoroughly enjoyed building this cheap kit into my latest Diorama
