Not for beginners! If you’re new to this craft, avoid avoid avoid. Get a different book.
Oh lord! Where do I begin?! If you’re a novice, this is not the book for you! I read loads of reviews before buying it, most of them saying it’s great for beginners and, well, it really isn’t! I feel totally duped. This book is really designed for the experienced miniature food maker. Most of the “recipes” I’ll just never be able to make because they’re way out of my crafting ability and I don’t have the tools required to make them. I’d find something that looks nice, decide to give it a go then read the list of things I’d need to make it and mutter “I’m out!” A pasta maker? Nope. Don’t have one. A silicone mould making kit?! Nope. Don’t have that either. Who has that lying around?! Except maybe a dentist. And oh yes, several things suggest using dental tools. I’m giving this three stars because it’s a very pretty book with lovely photos. If you’re an experienced miniature food maker who’s also a dentist (with a love for making fresh pasta from scratch!) then this is the book for you. If you’re a beginner, give it a miss.

If you want to mass produce miniatures - this book is essential
The bible for mass producing miniature food. It concentrates on caning techniques, molds and cold porcelain.Each lesson is well illustrated with photographs and easy to follow text. Lessons are divided into Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced so you can work your way through them. You will be totally inspired and itching to make everything shown, especially the amazing cabbages! Well worth the investment.

Book is wonderfully executed lots of photographs to follow, some creations can be done by amateurs and novices such as myself, others are expert level but can be achieved with patience. Angie scarr is one of the best food creators out there and any of her books are well worth buying.
