Sibel Classic 74 Oval Hair Brush (100% Boar Bristle)

I really love this hairbrush! It is lightweight and the bristles aren't too tightly packed and are soft, which is perfect for my long, damaged, lightened hair. I guess it could be a tad too soft if you have thick or curly hair, but for me it is the perfect hairbrush...and the price is fantastic. I have paid much more for lesser quality brushes!

I find that this brush is really good for calming down flyaways and making hair look shinier.I used to have very badly damaged, bleached fine hair which has become much healthier and much much thicker since I stopped colouring it. I was looking for a new hairbrush to help it grow and help with distributing oil throughout my hair (trying to only shampoo my hair once or twice a week which can be tricky with fine hair). This brush really does the job and I really love using it - you have to press quite hard to pick up hair because the bristles are very dense but it does the trick.ONE THING - not great for blow drying hair as it's very difficult to get any lift as you can't pick up hair as easily as you could with a plastic brush. I also find once I've brushed my hair with this brush when dry I have to lift layers up from the root a little afterwards as it can flatten hair down. Don't let this put you off however, it makes it sleek and thick-feeling enough that hair that isn't COMPLETELY clean should hold up by itself. Really good product otherwise :)

This brush is amazing! I have very bleached long hair so sometimes my hair gets very dry especially the ends. I don't wash my hair daily so that it can build up sebum and hydrate my hair. But due to my hair being long, the sebum doesn't reach the ends. Using this brush works by spreading the grease from my roots to the ends. It makes my hair so healthy and the ends of my hair look smooth and silky. Some reviews say it doesn't work on "thick" hair but it does if you section your hair when you brush it. This way, your brush is really smoothing out every single strand and making sure your hair looks shiny and healthy.

Nice brush, unfortunately, not for me as I have quite thick hair and this brush "skims" over the top. I would recommend it for those who have fine hair..

My hair is armpit length, fine and slightly thinning, although I'm getting re-growth where I've lost hair in the past. The roots are oily and the ends are slightly dry. I follow a semi-Ayurvedic haircare regime - I use oils and herbal rinses but I also use natural shampoo and conventional conditioner on my ends. I'm trying to wash my hair less so I shed less and don't damage my hair so much and that's where this brush comes in. If you brush your hair when totally dry (never wet or damp) from root to tip you will distribute the natural oils down the length of your hair to the drier ends. If your hair is thick, just part your hair with a comb to reveal the section underneath, brush that first then brush the top. And if you find that after brushing your hair is sticking to your head with no movement, just use your fingers to add volume to your hair and it will be transformed. It's going to take several weeks to see a major difference. Compared to a Mason Pearson brush this particular Sibel bristle boar brush is a good introduction to the art of 'proper' hair-brushing but it's no substitute so there's no point comparing them. But as I'm not prepared to shell out the money for an MP just yet, I'm perfectly happy with the Sibel for the cost.

This brush is brilliant if using for either child's hair or if you have quite fine hair, I wouldn't recommend it for those with thick hair as it wouldn't get knots out or go through thick hair so it would really just brush the top layer leaving the underneath unbrushed.I bought this brush to brush my daughters hair as she absolutely hates getting her hair brushed! Every morning we have tantrums and a fight on to brush her hair. This brush has made that a thing of the past... And for the first time EVER, she even took it to school with her so she could brush her hair for the school photos! Brilliant!

This is my first boar bristle brush and I'm never going back to synthetic brushes now! I do have problems with hair breakage/hair loss and this brush feels so gentle; it actually detangles quite well without pulling my hair. I do feel like it distributes natural oils throughout the hair better than non boar bristle brushes do but it definitely doesn't eliminate greasy hair, which is fine with me as my hair doesn't get greasy that often. My only issue with this particular brush is that it's quite small and it can't go through my thick hair all at once, I need to section it to ensure that every part of my hair has been brushed but that can be forgiven, seeing how cheap it is.
