My very choosy dog appears to love this coat.
This is a lovely snug coat for dogs. It fits my Border x Lakeland Terrier like a glove and he appears to really like it. It has a very cosy fleece inside and a waterproof nylon outer coating which does work unlike some other dog coats which are supposedly waterproof. I bought this back in 2021 and am now looking to buy a second one as this coat is beginning to get a bit grubby underneath his chest and around the lead connection hole. It does wash well but only with soap and not detergent, as the instructions indicate. Only being able to wash it with soap means that some of the stains caused by road dirt don't come out. The only other grouse I have with this coat is the back leg straps which are far too tight and too short for the size of the coat. My dog will not move if anything touches his backlegs or his tail area. I've tried lengthening the leg straps but he still won't move with them fastened so I've given it up as a bad job. Because you can't fasten the back leg straps the coat blows up over his back when it's windy which is rather annoying. My alternative is for him to wear his wax jacket on wet and windy days because this is stiffer and doesn't blow up over his back. Apart from the two disadvantages I've mentioned, this is a lovely coat. I particularly like the fastening. The coat slips over his head then has two straps which come up either side of his body between his front legs, fastening with broad velcro over the back. There's a short zippered opening if you want to put a harness underneath the coat instead of connecting a lead to the dog's collar through the hole provided. This type of fastening which covers the dog's chest is ideal in my view. Above all, it appears comfortable to wear and is very durable. A really useful feature as well as those already mentioned is that it has piping all around which is reflective at night or in dark weather.

Excellent coat, but...
The coat is very good at protecting my dog from the rain and wind. It also looks very comfortable and warm. The opening on the top to clip the lead to a harness is great. Also, it's washable and keeps its shape after washing. The only issue I found with this coat is with the elastic that goes around each of the dog's back legs. One of them came loose a few days after the coat arrived. I fixed it and now another one came loose. This is a quality issue and the manufacturer should enforce the seams between the coat and the elastics to ensure this doesn't happen. All in all I'm very happy with this coat. I recommend it with the caveat to have the elastic around the legs reinforced by the manufacturer.

Waterproof
Primarily wanted a waterproof jacket that also covered as much of the underside of the dog as possible.Great on both counts.Of course had to fit (just about), be affordable (was discounted), look halfway decent and easy to put on.Jacket meets needs albeit a tight fit but the leg elastics look completely uncomfortable for my dog so they've been cut off and another way found to make the jacket fit more closely to body.

Great lightweight and warm
I read all the reviews before I ordered and all were good but for the price l didn't expect much. I was pleasantly surprised. It is a great lightweight coat which my dog is happy to wear, it is so easy to put on and keeps him dry and warm too and l love all the little details like the zip you open to put the lead through if your dog is wearing a harness and if wearing a collar then you leave it zipped up and the back leg straps to keep the coat in place.

Lovely coat
Nice quality coat which is easy to get on. If you have a dog who is fairly slim and long in the body (like my cocker) you may find that the Velcro tummy fastener is a bit long/loose. My dog was in between sizes so I went bigger otherwise I’ve found coats to be too short in the body length. That has meant the tummy fastener is a little bit too long although still wearable.

Excellent protection without restriction
Our Jack Russell feels the cold these days but does not like being left out of long winter rambles. Initially I worried that she might not be able to run and jump when wearing this, but the careful design left her entirely unhampered. Even after going out in real downpours, the covered area remained dry and warm. There have to be compromises, and to achieve that level of comfort and freedom, part of her rump and shoulders remain unprotected, but that is a compromise she seems happy with. It also washes well and dries rapidly.

Great coat
This is the first time my 14 year old Cairn terrier has worn a coat and being so light she didn't seem to mind it at all. I bought a medium as she is overweight at 10 kilos and the length is perfect, due to the generous length of velcro it fitted well around her middle, between her front legs it was slightly loose so some rain did get in making the inside slightly wet, also I couldn't use the elastic on her back legs as she has arthritis, this stops the back of the coat being blown upwards, I see several other people have also commented on this, maybe straps that fastened with a popper might be better. The hole that you could poke the lead through and then attach to her collar was great as it meant the neck on the coat could stay up giving her better protection from the rain, there is also another zipped area for you to attach a harness.Overall I would say this is a great coat, value for money, easy and quick to put on and well designed

good coat
this is a good coat BUT i should have read up about it more carefully. the strap goes between the dog's front legs, then does up at the sides, over itself. i have arthritis and have a low tummed dog-basset hound, so this is quite difficult for me. also the tum strap is quite forward (behind the dog's front legs) so the coat will blow up unless you use the back leg elastication.. If you have a dog that hates its legs being lifted, then this would be a problem. also the gap for the harness/lead is positioned a bit awkwardly-i had to cut it to make it fit. and, most importently, the head gap is fixed and rather small. i had to cut this to make it fit my basset's head. BUT saying all this, i kept the coat as this will do as an 'emergency' one when we just go in the garden-we loves to roll and mess about-this is so easy to wash and dry-it is easier to do that than try and wash HIM-so it is useful-and a lovely cheery red.
