This has worked like a charm. Directions were easy to follow and I've successfully tested every stone in the house. I even took it to a jewelry show recently to test items before purchasing. Highly recommend.

The tester works and I have only had a reading problem 2 times out of almost 25 tests. It's easier if you have experience with testers. My only 2 complaints would be that it takes about 25 seconds after turning on before it is ready to scan the thermal conductivity of a stone; but my main complaint is that it took me more than 5 minutes to get the battery in. The battery is a very tight fit and I felt as if I was going to damage the tester circuitry when I was putting the battery in because there's no protection on the circuit board for being that tight of a fit and then the plastic housing is flimsy and tricky to snap back in place as well but you have to have the battery just right down in there and you kind of have to tuck the wires perfectly into position. I imagine this device would go through batteries pretty quickly because of the heating element which seems to not heat up as fast as other diamond testers. I'll still use the product but I was expecting more of a user friendly interface. I also like to see hard cases for diamond testers and the tip cap is hard to take off with your bare hands so you have to be careful not to damage the tip if you plan to keep the cap off of it. I will update if there are any issues but it is working for now.

This tester is great! Does not need to be calibrated, (recommended once a year) before testing. Responsive and true. Tested on known diamonds first. Accurate and fits well in the hand.

Wouldn’t buy again, worked for a week. Back cover doesn’t fit with enclosed battery.

Battery not less longer. Used only one time battery gone. Can’t return because time out

Absolutely love it. I had to sell some of my jewelry and wanted to make sure that I was not going to be told that it was a fake diamond and be swindled. This is easy to use. Also, was able to tell a couple that came to our house that her supposed diamond ring that she received from her from her fiancé was fake. Made for an interesting get together.JUST KIDDING!

This unit seems to work well, but I can't get the battery to properly fit in the compartment, so I'm not 100% sure that I'm using it properly. But it's compact, which is nice. And I think the readings I'm getting are accurate.

So far, this is a great little gemstone tester! I usually get the Diamond Selector 2, but wanted to try this one since it's a little different & appeared to have a smaller tip, which it does!I love the informational page inside! This has a blacklight too & on the instructions page, it tells you the typical colors that different genuine AND synthetic gemstones glow under the light. I love how it calibrates itself based off ambient temperature! With the other thermoconductive testers, you have to know the temperature, ct size etc & adjust the number accordingly. This one seems to do it for you, which has worked out (been accurate) so far!The 1 paid to try it review that said the only complaint was how difficult it was to put the battery in, definitely had merritt, as the battery is super snug. However, I think that gives this one a bit of a positive edge over the others, since some of the biggest issues I've had with others has been the light flickering with moving the tester because you could tell the battery was shifting, as well as of course the larger sized tip.I'm glad I took a chance on this one with only 3 reviews.
