5 star helmet for road biking

This replaced my last giro helmet, and was my favorite helmet I own. 22mph wreck on gravel in a group, broke my helmet, bruised ribs and lots of road rash but head is perfectly fine! Buying another or an Aries!Highly recommend, the helmet moves independently to save your noggin

I bought this on Friday, and I got a car accident on Saturday. I slammed to the ground after hit the car. I did not worry about covering my head during clash. This helmet is the most comfortable helmet. also safest helmet so far in my experience. It is quit light, feel forgot I am wearing it. and great ventilation.

It's a nice helmet, and the spherical, double-shell technology is cool. Size-wise, it runs a little big. I've always been a Large in helmets and hats, and I'm ratcheted all the way down with this one. This one is slightly more comfortable than my two Bontragers, although not quite as nicely finished. Of course, we buybthese mainly for impact protection, and I can't speak to the effectiveness of that.

Fits great, cups the head well and inspires confidence in safety by simply blending in and making it feel like you're not wearing a helmet. The piece of mind that the spherical tech gives is nice and paired with the fact that it fits like a glove with a huge range of adjustability is even better.BUT1. This helmet is pretty loud when you're moving at speed. Like really loud.2. There really aren't any perfect places to store your sunglasses. I love having a spot in the vents that you can slip your sunnies on those early morning rides to have them handy for when the sun comes over the hills. I've tried with 100% Glendales and S2 along with a pair of Smith Arena and haven't really gotten them in a spot where they're securely out of the way. Bummer, but ultimately the safety and fit overcomes this.

I so wanted to like this helmet. Did research to find lightweight helmet to replace old helmet and chose this one. Even corresponded with Giro customer support about how I could not unbuckle the buckle. Had to return.

Been using Giro helmets for many years, and time for a new one, and the Helios does not disappoint.Great fit and light.
