Has gaps in accuracy not good when asians say they are hurting due to hate crimes
The gaps in accurate depiction seems to overlook india was formed in 1947; & the hindu buddist regional culture has been called foreign; chola & pandiyan kingdoms in the original region not mentioned(from what is currently india after 1947) are not mentioned though the funan, tibet etcfrom china are mentioned as part of region, but people are depicted as primitive tribes instead of the real families they beling to. So lacks accuracy& dignity local communitity deserves. At best its divisive & dismissive of local communities heritage

History at it's finest, in a flash!
We all love to read history and I love it even more now that I am older. Being able to get a quick fix in about an hour is so wonderful. My thanks to Charles River Editors in coming up with all of these books. I can read and refresh my memory in just a little bit. I love these books! History at it's finest, in a flash!

Short in depth review of the Khmer Kings; account of the author"s surmises.
A surmise from a different author on a historically limited subject. A shift in focus of an author on a different area of Khmer history. Alas not fully extrapolated nor expansive; all too brief. Would prefer longer narrative approach on a obscure time for comparative analysis.

Very interesting and substantive history and description of the temples
I am going to Angkor, and found this book to be very useful preparation. The history of Cambodia is fascinating, if confusing, and this book did a good job of interweaving the history and the building of the temples in the area, making it a terrific resource.

A decent overview. Poor audio version
As expected from this series, the book is a fair overview of the topic and very useful for this purpose.I listened to the audio version and it was marred by a stilted narration often marred by poor pronunciation. This had the effect of making it very difficult to listen to.

Very interesting
Interesting book. I felt the format was a little like a textbook than a book to indulge, nevertheless it was a good read.It was fascinating to read about the influence of other cultures regarding the history. Good read.
