The book is interesting with having the charity shop assistants as main characters. It was honest as they made mistakes being non detectives and therefore not all knowing. Characters were believable and therefore an enjoyable afternoon read with coffee and cake

Absolutely love this book. Great characters and setting - quite different to other cosy crime books. Such a great idea setting it in a charity shop. The shoppers and neighbouring shops all feature in the day to day, while the intrepid shop ladies investigate a murder too. Ordered the next book as soon as I finished this one - quite unusual for me to do that. Give it a try and you'll be hooked too. :)

I really enjoyed this book so different for me but so interesting. It had a story running through 're the charity shops, also the individual lives of the charity ladies apart from the plot itself . Very good.

I'm finding this a delightful and non-demanding read. Similar-ish to Richard Osman's Thursday books, but sillier and more unlikely. Fun characters, silly plot, very entertaining. A pleasant change from Stephen King!

The hitherto unexplored dynamics of charity shop networks and rivalry provides a groundwork for an escalating series of murders, and their unofficial investigation by the three retired ladies working in the Dogs Need Nice Homes charity shop. A world of distinctive smells, bargains and variety of attitudes to recycling/re-using clothing and objects- moral /social/ snob values. The writer gets this, and gives us a plot that engages the reader to solve motive/ method/opportunity. I enjoyed this, and will read more, looking forwards to the central characters developing greater maturity in their methods.

I hadn’t expected much from this book but very pleasantly surprised, very entertaining with intrigue, the ending caught me out completely, I am now on to my second book.

I absolutely loved this book. It's great writing. Reading 2nd book in the series, which is equally as good, I hope there will be more. Would make a great tv drama.

Having just finished two fairly heavyweight books on the trot I wanted something light to read and this was perfect.With several similar amateur detective books around, this was not entirely original but entertaining enough.
