INTERESTING PHILOSOPHY COMING TOGETHER.
Continuing great story. The coherent thread running in the storyline is recognition of the self interest that drives the characters and the way that self interest is a major force for behavior in social interactions that definitely separates good guys and bad guys. 👍😱

Woah! Tons of awesome action.
This time Mike and his wives are out to chew gum and kick ass, and they're all out of gum. Tons of action, Mike setting the streets to order and kicking ass as needed. I love this world Jan Stryvant has created.

It's worth it
I really did enjoy the first series. It changed about halfway through when the devils became a part of the story. But even then I still enjoyed the story. The heritage series was something that I was excited about as it was continuing on with the kids. I didn't particularly care for the first book specifically one part in particular which I mentioned in my review for that book. But it didn't have anything to do with the quality of the writing or storytelling. The second one with SJ overall was a little on the boring side but it was to be expected because even though it's the second book in the series it's the first book with that set of characters for the most part. And in my opinion the first book of any new series can be a little shaky as what's happening and who the characters are are as new to the author as it is to the reader. Book 3 was awesome cuz it was the second story for the black lion and everything had stabilized. To be perfectly honest out of the five books now I think it's my favorite so far. Book four with Troy was a surprise because it sounded like the author was originally going to do another one for SJ. I really like the story for Troy. It felt like the author had gotten a feel for how he wanted to tell the stories in the heritage series. So while it was a first book for Troy it felt like it was farther down the line. This one number five was okay. Actually it was better than okay but there were a couple of chapters where it felt like the story I fell flat. I'm assuming that it may have had to do with the fact that even though this is book five in the series it's only the third one for our black lion and as such maybe he wanted to temper the story a little bit. Basically There's an opportunity for Revenge but our main character is not present and if I had been the writer which I'm not I would have liked to have seen the family take the Revenge instead of putting it off to have a Revenge scene later on in the book with the main character. There's also another element in there that really upset me but most of this review has to do with my personal taste and again not the quality of the writing or the storytelling. And just because I would have liked to have seen things unfold in a certain way has no effect on how the writer tells their story because they're telling the story. If I want things happening in my way I'll write my own book. That being said I'm just sharing my feelings about the story which is a 90/10 split in the positive. I can't wait to see what happens next. I am hoping for another Troy book.

Terrific
I am coming to like Mihalis the best of all the main characters in the Valens books. This book continues to develop the character wonderfully!

Every book in this series is a gem to behold
This world has so much potential, and I bang wait to see where it goes. The pacing of the stories is perfect. My only nit pick is since I am terrible with names and with the number of wives expanding between Troy, SJ, and Mike, I need a cheat sheet. But with the appendix I can just break out the sibling list and build a family tree. Which, I think I might do, after I map the territories.... Hrm.

Don't Mess with the Valens
Mihalis has really come into his own. Plot really moves with lots of action. Dialogue is well written, but this is Jan Stryvant- when is it not well written? Very smart book, and it looks like the overall Narrative is heading in a fun direction! Must read!

Home? Home is where your Wives are!
Micheal takes special care of each of his wives and they take care of him too. Being a black lion and incubus is as unique as can be in the lion world, but he has also taken over a town in trying to make their lives safer and not. Not because the lions eat the demons souls, not allowing then to be reborn and killing them gives at least a little challenge, where few can compare to their strengths.Michael's father, Sean, asks for a political favor to help in Stevens' election hopes and all is good until it's not...Lions do come back from the dead...Great read and good continuing of the Valens series.Read in 2 days

Freaking Unbelievably Great
I've now read all of the authors books under this name, in just the last two months.I honestly never thought that I would enjoy this genre, but I even read through migraine headaches.I believe this is the longest series I've ever read. BTW I'm past 75, so that includes a hell of a lot of reading. The kicker is that I can't wait for more to come out.I thank the author for sharing his talent, and providing me with months of pleasure.

Love the continuation of the Valens series.
I'm loving the continuation of the Valens series and Mihalis is absolutely my favourite - no contest. Although I enjoyed the Troy book I'd really prefer the next one also by about Mihalis. Two minor gripes:- first there was a very odd incest vibe between Mihalis and Cinnamon that was just wierd because nothing happened so why bother?- still think the books should have a Djevil power structure appendix. After all the books I'm still not sure how Raseri and Mindre compare to Rage, Ridders and Biskops etc.

Another superb addition to the Valens series
I'll be honest inhaled this book. There's noticeably less smut in this one, which I honestly don't mind either way but considering it is a staple of the series it's worth mentioning. As for the story it's our usual beautiful banter filled mayhem, and while this one feels noticeably less tense compared to the previous books it's still a great read. I'm just hoping we get some more tension in the coming books, and while I get it's difficult to do when your characters are literally gods... IDK, the usual catharsis I get from books like this was somewhat lacking. Still, the dialogues are funny as all hell the world is well crafted and it's always fun to see idiots get owned :)

Great to be back with Mihalis
I have been really enjoying these continuation books to the Valens series. I was glad that I signed up for Jon van Stry's email as yet again amazon didn't inform me it was available, which seems to be happening with a lot of the authors I have been following lately, they keep sending me recommendations for authors I haven't purchased from in years and it is really getting on my nerves.
