Great replacement for the mount that comes with the tail light
The wonky mount that comes with the tail light is held onto the seat post with a thick rubber band that gives little confidence the light will still be on the bike at the end of a bumpy ride. This replacement mount attaches securely to the seat post with a bolt-secured clamp.

Didn't fit my seat post.
Even with the provided shims did not fit my seat post (a Roval Alpinist). Shims were either not thick enough or too thick. so can't comment on how it works. My seat post isn't an unusual diameter (at least I don't believe so) not sure why it doesn't fit. I ended up buying the Garmin-made mount (basically the same but of course costs more because...Garmin) and it fit nicely. Since I only paid $11 for this one it's not even worth walking to the UPS store to return, so it's going into my "bike parts to sell/give away" box. Oh well.

Decent mount, low quality varia connector
Quality of the mount is as expected, creates a firm hold against the seat post.The quality of the varia connector is quite poor. The centering pins are off center (see attached photo) which ends up holding the Varia at an angle. 4 stars only because it’s easy swappable with a higher quality connector (I swapped with the OEM connector that came with the varia).

OK but a bit loose
The fit is a bit sloppy. Be sure to buy the protective case with the tether to make sure you don’t lose your expensive gear.

dont buy it
the tightening screw goes into plastic instead of any kind of metal insert.....you cant tighten it on your seat post as the screw goes into plastic that is stripped and will not tighten....its worthless....sorry

The mount itself is too bulky.
The mount that goes around the seatpost is too bulky. It hits inside of my thighs when I pedal.
