Jul: Swedish American Holiday Traditions

I bought this for my daughter as a birthday gift. Since her heritage is part Swedish l thought she would enjoy it. I was so hooked l wanted to keep it for myself. Great photos and engaging text.

This is a collection of memoirs by Swedish-Americans. Family traditions and recipes are shared giving the reader an insight into how modern customs and traditions blend in celebrating Christmas in America. Many Swedish customs will seem familiar to all. The recipes are wonderful.

This is by far the BEST Swedish American cookbookI’ve ever bought!! This history of her research and stories of days gone by brings back wonderful memories of my childhood. Thank you for such an amazing cookbook!!

Wonderful book, beautiful photographs, stories, and great recipes. I love this book.

Originally I found “Jul” at the library and loved it so much that I bought it for reference and for the recipes over the holidays. My family is Scandinavian a couple of generations back and sadly we are all Americanized now so I am using this book to try out recipes that could be new/old traditions going forward.

Absolutely beautiful book with wonderfully familiar dishes served by my Swedish Grandma (from Malmo). Love the story and narratives and beautiful pictures. I originally purchased this as a Christmas gift for my mom, but decided to keep for myself and purchase a second copy for my mom. Excited to try a few of these recipes THIS Christmas.God Jul :)
