Sent with growing mushrooms already at the pinhead stage, this no-fuss kit from one of the country's leading mushroom growing experts, will see its first crop in days. Mushrooms can be difficult to get started, so Merryhill Mushrooms - sixth generation specialist farmers in West Sussex - have done the hard work for you. Prepared in small batches, the freshly prepared pots arrive with us once a week on a Wednesday, and are sent to you on our 24-hour UKMail courier service, which is all included in the price. King Oyster mushrooms are meatier and firmer textured than chestnut mushrooms, and are excellent as a main ingredient. Nothing beats the flavour of freshly picked mushrooms, and it's great fun watching them grow - children love them too! The kit is incredibly simple to use and, although it may not look most attractive at first, it does provide a very generous crop of King Oyster mushrooms. Each 'log' contains pre-spawned mycelium for King Oyster mushrooms. All your need to do is place the 'log' into the plastic bag provided, leaving enough room for the humidity to rise, and store as close to 17 degrees as possible. Then spray to 'log' regularly to keep the humidty levels up and watch the mushrooms grow. Once the first crop has been harvested, soak the 'log' in water for up to 30 minutes and leave on a plate or tray. If conditions are correct and the growing instructions have been followed carefully, you should see the second crop start to grow after a couple of days.
