Pleasant Surprise
I've purchased several colors of this polish so my review is for the brand, including this color. I am an experienced manicurist and have done my own nails for 30+ years, so I'm very familiar with a wide range of products. The consistency of this polish is a little thicker than my usual brands, but the coverage is better and it goes on smoothly and easily. I really like the brush applicator, it is wide enough to cover most of the nail in one stroke. My manicures have lasted longer than with any other product I've ever used. It has beautiful coverage, no chips, and excellent shine; even after normal household chores like washing dishes, scrubbing counters, etc. I did several manicures before writing my review and had the same results each time. My current manicure is 2 1/2 weeks old and still perfect. Full disclosure; I have thin, weak nails, but take good care of them and they are quite long. I use an excellent base/top coat (Nailtiques #2) and apply multiple coats (the more coats, the better because it adds strength). I never use polishes with hardeners, gels, or artificial nails as they weaken natural nails. Also, I bought this color and another that arrived in the same box, but this color was broken. Although they don't normally make refunds, I sent photos of the broken bottle still in the unopened plastic sleeve and they refunded me for this bottle. I'm very happy with this product. It's a great value even though it's more expensive than bargain brands, but it's worth every penny because it lasts longer and covers better so you'll use less. As a penny-pinching "valuista," I highly recommend it.

I only bought this because of the name. Now im hooked.
Oh my sweet baby Jesus. Buy this. I am the kind of person that impulsively buys nail polish almost every time I go to the drug store. My polish lasts maybe 2 days tops, and I've tried the drug store various top coats and base coats to try to make it last.I saw this and Lol'd at the name of the color and after a month of wanting to say I owned "gay ponies dancing in the snow" I finally bought it. The price was scaring me off.I have a desk job and I'm typing and writing all day. My ring finger is usually first to go based off how I hold a pen. I also paint so my nails end up with paint on them as well.I skipped a base coat and top coat to see how well it actually worked.1. This went on mostly clearish with glitter 1st coat.2. 2nd coat was basically magical. Pink w glitter.3. I did a 3rd coat...bc I wanted MORE glitter4. This stuff magically dried in maybe 10-20 min. Completely. Normally it takes hours for polish to dry for me. I always ding it, or think it's dry and try to "do stuff" but this polish...NOPE IT'S DRY.5. about an about later I did dishes. Painted. Used various cleaning chemicals. Picked at a pimple (don't judge) and no chips, dings, nada.6. 3 days later still flawless. Despite typing/writing, more dishes, playing with pets, etc etc.7. Day 4 I was moving out of my apartment and had to use heavy duty oven cleaner, among other various strong cleaning supplies. While I was using gloves, inevitably some heavy duty oven cleaner got on my hands. That stuff is strong enough to suck the chrome odd a bumper. And...ONLY 2 CHIPPED NAILS. TWO. TWO!!!!!8. I picked at the chipped nails and they ended up peeling off in 1 piece...the nail underneath felt healthy/not damaged. It was so oddly satisfying :pBottom line: if you are the kind of person who has tried almost every drug store nail polish w mediocre results and have little faith in polish lasting more than a day, and scoffed at than other reviews for this, stop scoffing.I included pics of my left and right hand on day 5 to show the chipped nails + how well the other nails held up so far. Can't wait to see how it does when I don't use strong chemicals.

UPDATE: THEY REVERTED TO THE ORIGINAL FORMULA — NEW FORMULATION — AND IT’S TERRIBLE
UPDATE: I should have updated this some time ago and forgot. Smith & Cult changed the formula back to the original and it is again the best base coat I’ve ever used! This base, however, is also clear SO make sure you get the newest formulation. This was corrected some time ago, so I would assume that it would be easy to find now. I changed the stars from 2 back to 5.OLD REVIEWI have used this brand of base coat for some time and loved it. However, the base coat always had a pink tinge to it (which was great) but the one I just received was clear. It turns out that Smith & Cult reformulated it. I wish they hadn’t. The first two times I used the new one, the tips of my nails started chipping in one day and the polish on 2 nails actually peeled off. So, 3 days ago, I used the pink one on one hand (I still had a tiny bit left) and the clear one on the other hand. Two coats of the same polish (ILNP) and the Seche Vite top coat on both hands. After one day, 2 nails with the clear base were chipping and today I noticed that the polish on one nail had totally pulled off the top of the nail. Then I noticed that another nail had no polish at all on it — the entire layer of base coat, polish, and top coat had fallen off somewhere. However, the other hand with the pink base coat is still perfectly fine. So, if you can find the pink-tinged base coat, I would highly recommend it. But I would avoid the clear one.

It was the base coat
Update: Read some reviews about Smith and Cult base coat and decided not to use it due to the bad reviews about nail polish chipping. Used my trusty Ella + Mila base coat and I am happy that the polish has stayed on for almost a week now and still on without any chips.I really wanted to love Smith & Cult, the colors are fantastic and they go on smoothly. Usually any nail polish stays on for me for at least a week. With all the great reviews and articles on how long it last I ended up buying a few bottles since I’m switching to clean nail polishes. Figured they would last on me for well over a week, I was wrong. Subnormal chipped on the third day, Doe My Dear the next day, Stockholm Syndrome a few hours, and Forever Fades Fast on the third day. I even got their base and top coat. I’ve be polishing my nails for over the past 25 years and have never been this disappointed in a nail polish, especially on a high end nail polish. Such a waste of money.

Long Lasting
I purchased this top coat with the same brand 1972 (rose gold) and on day five I can report that there is no chips or damage to the manicure even after doing dishes at least once a day. For a regular polish (not gel) that is impressive and I’d buy this product again.

Does Not Last Long
I purchased this because my sister has several health issues and We can’t get to the salon right now. It’s nice, but you need at least 3 coats for the colour to truly show. And it doesn’t seem to last that long even with 3 coats, say about a month or less. But if you’re stuck at home, it’s a nice way to improve your mood in a small way

Excellent quality, and colour
The brush took a little getting used to, but the color applied evenly and well. The polish is somewhat thin compared to other brand, but that makes it easier to get a really nice application.

Works well so far
Does leave a slightly sticky finish to help polish adhere.
