Silverline Hand Nibbler 260mm (255314)

I bought this for cutting 0.5mm stainless steel. It couldn't even start on 'nibble' because the serrated hard steel central nibble blade/claw/finger whatever it's called just slid off the edge of the metal. The idea is that it grips the piece and shears out a continuous slice but rather than the metal being drawn into the tool's jaw, the tool just backed off from the metal. I though maybe stainless is too tough so tried mild steel: same problem. I don't understand how this thing can ever work but I guess sometimes it does and I am unlucky. I bought a budget price bench-top sheet metal guillotine instead and so glad I did, but this is for my application (straight slicing flat sheet metal) whereas there are some jobs for which only a (good) nibbler can work.I got an immediate refund from Amazon and used their seamless drop off service to send the thing back.

Bought to cut out small rectangles (about 25 x 75 mm) in 1mm steel. Cuts straight line neatly, and worked in plastic and some slightly thinker aluminium.

Cutting metal sheet

Have been using these to cut up cases of old PC power supplies to make small metal plates used in some electronic equipment prototyping. Saved hours and many pennies already :-))

Bought to replace my worn out Gos-cut (no longer made) this does the job ok but seems cumbersome. Come on eclipse! bring back the Gos-cut!
